Second half young lads really showed the difference today showed the hunger to impress, thought page played superbly and took both of his goals well especially his 2nd where he kept his cool and just guided the ball into the net rather than hammer it.

 

Silko Thomas had a great game deserved his goal and took it well a great goal,great to see Will Alves back in a Foxes shirt looked a right handful the rest of the young ones played some great football and it looks like the next manager will have a real headache with players like these lads to choose from some of the senior player needs to buck up their ideas now the future looks bright with the young lads we have coming through !

A silky(o) finish from Thomas. Plenty of eagerness and hunger from the youngsters, a lot of flair, players who can get past their man.

WInks is like a pivot, he passes the ball, moves and recieves, he has great awareness of whats arounf him, he needs to play with a progressive forward thinking midfielder who can carry, Skipp isnt that player, im still not sure what type of player skipp is

Just makes it crucial we get a manager that will build the team around the youngsters they are fearless 

 

Carsley would work wonders with this group hopefully Rohl will not be afraid to bed them in either.

We can't be making judgements on players though after 1 pre season game. 

Winks was good for the first 2/3 of the season under Maresca but let's not forget how bad he was at the end of it. He was honking in the Prem last season as well.

 

Skipp is a write off plain and simple, the only reason he's been given so many chances is because of his price tag. He shouldn't get minutes for us again. Compare him to someone like Page, who is only 16 btw, and it's chalk and cheese.

Obviously, it is exciting seing some of these young players coming through but it's important to remember that a lot of these lads are 16/17 and putting the pressure of expecting them to contribute over an entire season in a promotion challenge would be unfair to them and potentially harmful to their development.

Some impressive performances from the younger players, Paige, Joseph, Thomas, Monga, Aluko and Alves. All keen to track back as well!

 

I also thought Nelson Winks and Justin looked good as well.

How Winks is worshipped by our fanbase and Soumare is hounded never ceases to amaze me. Simply just because of a decent spell in the championship people are blinded to the fact Soumare is the superior footballer (and im not even a fan of Soumare). Winks is actually a poor player if he was looked at in the same lens that Soumare is.

Not worshipping him, he was an idiot last season, but watching him live in all the games at the KP when we won the league, he was one of if not the best midfielder in the league, and will be important for us this season, if he doesnt get a move that is which I think is unlikely

Fully agree! Sadly as you can see by the reaction to Winks's performance today some of our fans praise the ground he walks on for barely doing the basics.

 

Simply put, he he is nowhere near good enough.

He was terrible at the end of the 23/24 season and was honking against QPR last season despite our 6-2 win. There is no guarantee he will have a good spell in the championship for us again.

 

Winks has been awful for us for too long for us to just assume he will recreate his early form with us. Compared to his overall time here he has only been good for a short window of it.
