We paid over 20m for Skipp - wow. What does he offer, seriously?

 

We paid 5m for Goulding and he's a youngen who was miles above skipp

Winks has been awful for us for too long for us to just assume he will recreate his early form with us. Compared to his overall time here he has only been good for a short window of it.

I dont recall he being bad end of 23/24, could have been fatigue, I was at the QPR game and I dont think the players were particularly up for it, was a weird game with the weather, Winks as I said had a terrible season last season with one thing or another, but when hes on it hes very valuable, so we want to hope that's the case.

Get me a manager who will put faith in this pool of academy players. I don't want a manager coming in and giving the likes of Reid, Faes, Coady, Vestergaard etc a chance to prove themselves.

 

65-70% of this squad need to be told they've got no future here and get out of our club. Make the place unpleasant for them and let's rebuild. I've had enough.

Any **** who comes in to manage us better embrace this set of youth players and build the squad around them and the professionals who are prepared to lead by example otherwise I’m organising a revolution.

Yep unfortunately we need to start really ostracising the big earners. Not really the way we want the club to behave long term but I’ve also had enough. Be vile to them and force them to look for any old move away from Leicester.

So refreshing to just watch some different players. Doesn’t matter if the kids can’t quite cut it just yet, give me a squad full of their energy and attitude any day ahead of the likes of VK, Soumare etc. Some really promising talents in that group too.

Skipp is a write off plain and simple, the only reason he's been given so many chances is because of his price tag. He shouldn't get minutes for us again. Compare him to someone like Page, who is only 16 btw, and it's chalk and cheese.

We overpaid for Skipp without a doubt but we're stuck with him so we'll have to use him. Anyone thinking that 16 year-old kids can play every week in the championship are in cuckoo land. We need to have some of these lads in the first team squad and be giving them minutes, but they can't and won't play every week. As I said, Skipp was good in the championship for Norwich so there is no reason he can't be for us.

I'd happily go to games watching what we could all know is a long term project with a young team. I think a lot of our academy boys mixed with some good experience (Ricardo, Okoli, Thomas, Justin, Mavdidi, Hamza and a few others) would still get us a decent place in the league. It's not a top quality league at all. I can take it being a bit poor at times or bad results but with the future in mind and watching us build and play with players we can get behind. 

 

The pros I've listed above for example like Justin, I'm not saying he's quality and I think he's massively declined as a player but I do think he does care unlike Vest/Soumare for example. 

 

Youngsters will also give fans more leeway for time and patience, you expect mistakes and learning curves if the attitude is there.

 

If we're pissing about with a new manager then get someone who can match this philosophy at least, we seem to be stringing it out massively maybe due to costs

There is a very good reason and it's the fact that he's had injuries since that loan that he never recovered from.

 

If you think Skipp can do a job for us you are in cuckoo land! Use you eyes rather than basing your opinion off a loan 5 years ago, he is nowhere near the level of the rest of our players. It's almost Danny Ward-esque how he isn't fit to be on the pitch.

There are players that we all know we'd like to go, VK, Soumare, Vestegaard, Faes etc, but 65% to 70% of the squad ?

What players from the academy that played today do you think are ready? For me

Nelson. Monga, Alves, possibly Golding?

Why give young hungry players with something to prove and on low wages a chance, when we can stick with players who earn more than  they're worth and couldn't give a toss?

We need to move him on. Spurs let Winks go because they had Skipp who was incredibly similar. Literally only Leicester would be stupid enough to buy both.

 

Winks rep is still high enough we could move him on for a few million and it’d be fine PSR wise. Rangers might be good off ramp

I'm not judging him off last season as the whole team was wretched. I'm also not judging him off 45 minutes of a pre season friendly. I've also never actually said he's good enough  I merely pointed out that he was decent in the championship last time and he won't be going anywhere so he's going to be in our squad this season whether we want him or not.

Good shout on Rangers, he is the quintessential Russel Martin player.

He is on way too much money.in wages on his last year, only way he goes is on a free and we supplement his wages, its pointless
