It's kinda hard blaming the manager for the state we are in today ..

Yes he's made mistakes but don't we all ..

I blame the players

Don't mind mistakes, if you are clearly learning from them, but so far it doesn't seem like he is

He’s average we will be lucky to finish in the playoff positions at this rate , we should have gone all out for Rohl if we were serious about automatic promotion. Getting schooled by poor teams is not a recipe for promotion.

With Hull and Millwall to come away from home we need to get 4 points from those games to get back on track if we get 2 draws or 1 point from those games, I wouldn’t be surprised if we make a managerial change.

all due respect what are you expecting?

if we go up under whatever manager we will be in the same position as we was last year,

the club needs to change and i think MC is trying to do that

pretty sure when we was in the champ a few years back some on here was giving Southampton the big 'un when they was on their run, but look back they had loads of draws in that too

think a reality check for some of our fans is needed

Biggest disappointment for me was bringing Bobby on the wing, he added nothing, I'd rather silko given a run.

Exactly this.

Reid won’t nor can’t run past their FB so must be the easiest type of winger to play against.

I am expecting a manager to play our promising youth talent at this level to give then valuable experience because playing the likes of Faes / Vestergaard / Ayew etc is not helping our cause.

We have better players in our youth set up give them a chance. If Marti was serious about enabling our future this is our future, playing the same old duffers week in and week out when we know what we are getting from them is piss poor.

Depends what his instructions are.

Is it promotion at all costs , using players that have been so poor for several seasons , but might be the best options to get the required results?

Or build a squad based on youth and experience ,that might take a few seasons to go back up, and the financial issues that go with that, but might have a better chance of staying up, once there?

I quite like him and think I'd give him more time, but the lack of improvement and making tactical changes , has been poor so far.

Could easily have lost to Charlton,  WBA,Wrexham and Pompey and we'd have had no complaints

Well they clearly are not as good as we would like to think, as consecutive managers have not started them, Monga being the exception.

Now, this might be done to how we are (instructed to) play, but regardless, it is true.

Also, if he has had long enough to turn it around in some peoples opinion, he has therefore also he time to gauge if the youth is suitable for inclusion in the starting XI (you can’t have it both ways)

Of course it could just be that he is encouraged to play some of the old guard, either from the board or senior player pressure.

Or he is just an idiot. Or a footballing masochist.

so we play our promising youth talent and then lose matches etc MC would still be getting called to go

sorry but some of our fan base would then flip the coin and say why isnt he playing the more experience players

cant have it both way, and MC is dammed if he does dammed if he doesnt

I was really happy with the appointment of Marti, I love the way he talks about ghe game and comes across very well. I liked his record with youth development and willingness to play academy players. It seems the perfect fit with our Seagrave talent factory. Something has gone awry though and he seems to not have the courage to follow through with his promises though. The bench options were so uninspiring last night, nothing at all to get excited about.

Feel sorry for him he hasn’t really got much to work with and probably been told he needs to play the bigger earners instead of leaving them at home every week for the youth.
he has to make subs it’s just unfortunate that the subs we have are utter shite though no fault of his own

hopefully he gets a few more of his own players in Jan and we are still with in distance of play offs/ top 2 to make a proper push after Xmas.
probably  hoping we can some small fees for players like Faes or soumare in Jan and could have been told to keep them involved even though they have to many mistakes in them

But he is sticking with Vesty and Faes despite there being an error on almost a weekly basis.

It is a concern that seemingly the players didn’t either understand his instructions second half or just didn’t listen.

It’s been very good in parts and extremely average at best in others. Still behind him though.

Last nights second half performance had so many red flags. It was the complete inverse to his words about how he wants us to play. Does the fault lie with him or the players many of us have come to despise. We know Ayew, Thomas, Faes, Soumare et al are not going to change, so the fault now must lie at Cifuentes feet. He can’t dig them out again, he’s already played that card. The last card he has in the deck, is the youth card. Will he play it, probably not.

Playing Devil's advocate here, but if he selects Page, Nelson and Aluko and we are still struggling, will people still get on his back for giving youth a chance?

I blame Faes. He has some flair going forwards occasionally but positioning is rotten and we never look consistent becaue he himself isn't consistent.

Start okoli next week and sacrifice a bit going forwards but hopefully can keep a clean sheet.

LB is also a worry I like Thomas but so lightweight.

Striker is another nightmare. Carranza made the mistake that led to their goal taking too many touches.

We have strikers who score 0 goals. And we have little in the way of creativity.  It speaks volumes that Bilal is still top of our assist chart and he's been playing in another country since August sitting on a whopping 2 from our opening game.

Marti has a lot to address but scoring goals is the big one.  We've got impotent forwards.  If he doesn't work out a way to get them or someone else firing it's looking bleak for him.

It's important not to fall into the trap of thinking another managerial change will solve the deep-rooted issues at board level and within the playing squad. Any manager would be up against it with some of these players, and the board are solely responsible.

He had barely any pre season. Sold more than we bought. He's been backed with 3 loans and 2 free goalkeepers. Genuinely stunned that people want him gone. Any manager we'd stand a chance of getting to replace him would struggle to do a better job this season.

We're not getting relegated. We're not getting promoted. We've got a bulk of dross leaving in the summer that'll free up a significant part of the wage bill. We've got a pending points deduction too. This season was always going to be a mediocre showing and a write-off by Christmas.

There's enough about Marti's system and history that suggests he'll be good enough to rebuild in the summer IMO.

It’s a mentality issue, and that’s ultimately down to the manager. He’s obviously not the cause of it, but I’m yet to see the evidence he’s turned it around.

A large of that stems from selecting players who openly don’t want to be here. If Wout Faes is still in your starting lineup every week, what sort of message does that send to the players, the fans? It’s ok to not care about this club? And how might that attitude seep into how the players approach the game?

Where is the self respect and respect for this club? What about the youth who you were seemingly so keen on before we’d kicked a ball Marti? At least they’d be more likely to fight for the shirt.

Our squad isn’t perfect and it has a couple of glaring issues, but it’s still more than good enough to compete at this level and beat the likes of Wrexham and Portsmouth at home. Not happy.
