Bannan signed a new deal, that came out the blue

Because we are kept fully in the dark we have no idea what this even means. Overall I'm completely buzzing that someone decided to stay and believe in the clubs future, Baz has given everything to us and the club and deserves a knighthood.

But then what about the players and staff that haven't been paid etc. Very confusing.

Surely that means something is in the offing - or is it irrelevant -  if he isn’t paid then he can tear the deal up.

He was always going to be loyal to them, and it doesn't seem any details have been given out. If they haven't been paid in 2/3 months, what's on the paper is worth nothing now if he isn't paid for the next 2 months. Could be a pay to play or it could be something more insane like will play for free just to help

So what happens if this doesn't go ahead, because it's looking likely it won't,do we get a 3-nil default win,and will we get refunded the money back?

My thoughts exactly. Everything says we win comfortably, apart from the small fact that we are Leicester F***ing City.

Put your house on a 2-1 win, Barry Bannan signs on a short term to help the club out, scores the winner a week before he leaves and celebrates by sitting the U10s down and teaching them their times tables

Two clubs in Sheffield one no one cares about.

This should be happening to the pigs down sty lane.

What’s wrong with United? Sheffield has two proper historic clubs with great fan bases and iconic stadiums. The rivalry is great as well and the city wouldn’t be the same without either of the clubs.

After living in Barnsley and meeting loads of blunts. Total delusional idiots.talk like they've man utd's trophy cabinet.

Second team on my go bust and burn list behind spuds.

My experience is very different. Very working class, honest people. I have never come across any that are arrogant or delusional.

I notice some are showing themselves up on social media laughing at the Wednesday situation but apparently Wednesday fans mocked Rotherham when they were on the brink so all fan bases have a portion of idiots.

Personally I don’t want any clubs to go bust but would enjoy a relegation or few from the likes of Forest, Coventry and Birmingham.

Totally agree with the last line. Don’t want clubs to go bust, but happy for certain ones to suffer a bit. Not sure how the Sheffield. Wed. situation has been allowed to go on for so long by the EFL. Do they not have any sort of intervention for this sort of thing. As usual, it’s the supporters who are suffering more than the owner. Weren’t some of our fans hoping for the owners to go bust and that it would serve them right if it did? No thought for potential ramifications of that regarding the future of the club. Just seem to want to stick 2 fingers up to the owners. They are not the ones who will feel the longer suffering.

Must admit I am baffled by Bannan. He hasn’t been paid on time for umpteen months but signs a new deal. At some point, Wednesday have to realise the nuclear option of boycotting is possibly the only way forward

With where I think we are in terms of fitness and likely moves/unavailables…… my team would be:-

                     Mads

Hamza    Nelson  Okoli   Thomas

                      Soumare

Fatawu    Winks    Bilal     Mavidi

                        Ayew

I know Winks is out of position and Skipp did really well today, but Winks’ quality on the ball might offer more in a game where we are likely to massively dominate possession. Nelson has to start ahead of others alongside Caleb. Daka must be a sub.

If they had to quit the league, all results against them would be void.

Nope, all results against them will be null and void.

No, their results would be expunged and it would become a 23 team league that continues as if Sheffield Wednesday had never existed. If we lost, no difference to our points tally at all. If we drew or won, we'd lose the points gained. Then, of course, the goal difference would be removed. If we won 2-0, for example, we'd have three points and two goals removed as would everyone else who'd played them.

As you can imagine, this could have enormous ramifications at the end of the season. It's why the EFL will want it wrapped up quickly one way or the other, and would sooner postpone Wednesday games than let them go ahead and risk an almighty headache at the end of the season. Imagine if we beat them, they were later expelled from the EFL and we missed out on automatic by two points after their results were expunged. Potential legal minefield right there.
