Jason Whittingham at Morecombe is fighting for that top spot.

He wrecked Worcester warriors and now Morecambe got to be the worst owner ever

I fully support the planned protests, but really hope that the Wednesday fans that are planning to interrupt the game with ref whistles/fireworks, do it while the ball is out of play and not while LCFC are attacking. Or a lot of goodwill could be lost.

Think most of that sort of thing is expected for our first home game rather than at yours. Hopefully anyway.

Another thing is I hope the bloody Sky cameras manage to capture the protest. For the one we did at Leeds away last year, they cut to adverts and never showed it. Typical.

There was a plane banner over the stadium when we played Liverpool as we were relegated the season just gone and Sky didn’t show it. There were suspicions than our owner had paid them not to. Not sure how try but there must be some truth behind it as the media would love a narrative normally….

The match experience has been sanitised by broadcasters. The TV audience sees a different product than a match going fan as the sterile Sky offering misses so much as they don't want the controversy. We hear it with the sudden quickening of the commentators voices as they hear a song start up that contains rude words. Don't expect Sky to highlight the trouble given that it doesnt involve one of their favourites.

Armchair fans are mostly clueless where fan culture is concerned only getting to see what they want you to see.

After watching the game at the weekend and watching fatawu im getting really excited for this season! First time in a long time I've felt excited about us!!

That boy shines bright. I forgot just how good he is. Although last season he was injured so early on, and he lost a bit of confidence in the Championship after he was red carded. Fingers crossed he’s in peak form.

And this, my friends, perfectly demonstrates the fickle and tribal nature of the general football fan. lol

I think, on this occasion, you’re being a bit harsh. Considering how last season went it would be absolutely fair for someone to feel despondent with how things were  going and with the attitude of the owners / players.

Same here, last season was a hard watch but watching the lad Monga gave me hope that things will turn for the better , and now Fatuwu is back I’m really looking forward to the season

Don't necessarily disagree with your points tbf. Just very easy for your general fan to flip flop based on the outcome of a single game/player performance. If the Koln game + scoreline would've been the last game of the pre season you'd see a complete opposite sentiment on this board. People need to think broader and bigger picture rather than live in a single moment/game.

Good piece on bbc1 this morning abouts Sheffield Wednesday. Their situation is sooo similar to ours

Thai business man, spent too much, poor poor people running the club and spending the money poorly. Now they can't spend

If there's one thing we're not going to be under Marti, it's complacent. He doesn't sit back after scoring, he wants the team to constantly attack.

He'll see this as an excellent opportunity to not only get the first points on the board, but to put in an excellent performance in his first proper home game and also on Sky.

I genuinely think we're going to rip Wednesday apart and that will set up us nicely.

This club defies logic though. We 100% should be confident though you're right

Exactly. I think as a fanbase we've forgotten that success was achieved when the team worked as a collective. Ofc there were always these individual player moments but all lines were giving 100% in every game.

Fatawu having 3 magic moments per game doesn't mean anything if our CBs also have their 3+ "magic" moments.

I don't quite see how their situation is so similar to ours. Our problems started in PL when BR managed to relegate a mid table team. This was an absolute crime which totally derailed everything. Ofc our board is liable to this monumental disaster.

After this was a matter of decisions. Rebuild and risk further decline? Keep the somewhat PL quality and go up instantly with excessive wages? Scouting and transfer logic was atrocious also, manager appointments laughable. Correct if I'm wrong but the major issue wasn't the transfers amounts, it was the wages to certain non footballers like Ward, Soumare etc.

Game will ahead and if it does i think Leicester will be too strong. 3-0 Leicester!

I'm also positive for the season but then I think if we go up we'll still have major issues, possibly bigger than we have now. And instantly my excitement is gone. 😒
