Given Marti's style. The fact that these guys have had 1 behind doors pre season match. Not only do they have a weak and imbalanced squad, morale will be through the floor and they're not match fit.

 

If we go at them hard and press like we did v Fiorentina, it should be a long and brutal afternoon for Wednesday. I'd be disappointed if we don't create enough decent chances to score 7 or 8. Whether they go in or not as another matter, but we should be absolutely raining chances on their goal.

Although I did just double check a few other sources and looks like they also played York and Man City behind closed doors as well.

Let's be honest who's going to buy a club in your state. All the problems caused by the owner.

Very true, but usually a team that parks the bus well is usually focusing on the matter at hand and will be well drilled.

 

This is a team that will be wondering when they're not going to get paid, who will be available to play and I think they have a threadbare/non-existent coaching staff.

 

I expect there will be mistakes and Rustiness from them. With the way that Marti likes his team to aggrssively press we will get chances either by our own making or them making mistakes. (Assuming we don't treat them lightly and are fully at it)

That being said, when I'm this confident, the opposite usually happens

It'll be akin to some of those friendlies you see pre-season where one side is a couple of weeks ahead of another in terms of preparation. Makes a huge difference. And that's before factoring in all the other crap they've got going on.

 

This fixture should be seen as a great opportunity rather than a banana skin.

They've had a pre-season, it isn't really an excuse for them. They're also only 1 short of a full starting XI and subs of senior players and will only need to bring a few kids with them.

 

As far as the first team goes the turmoil is being a bit overblown and they'll give us a proper game. If we end up steamrollering them it'll be because we were good and not because it was a gimme.

 

All irrelevant anyway as its the most nailed-on 0-1 (Bannon 89') imaginable.

You would like to think we have a good chance at controlling and winning the game, but are always a Soumare, Faes, JV brain freeze away from conceding.
