Personally I’d rather Kristiansen (wages) and Woyo (no idea if he is any good) went.

Ricardo, Thomas, Aluko, Hamza.  Short on the left hand side of anything.

If we have any faith in Aluko then cash in on Justin.

If we’ve learnt anything as a club surely this must be it.

you don’t have to like him but ‘ getting rid at all costs’ is not going to make us a financially stable club.

I would apply that phrase to around half of the squad from last year and it adds up very quickly. However, they’re so useless and overpaid there’s absolutely no chance so get rid of what you can.

If they’re over paid and there’s absolutely no chance then we can’t get rid at all costs can we..

If he is fit he starts at left back tomorrow

If he was fit, I'd play him at right back. Move Choudhury into midfield and drop the great pretender that is Soumere.

He’s not a very good RB an Choudhury is not a good CM

Marti has spoken a few times about a small squad. If that's what he is going for, players like JJ and Hamza will be key. Small squads don't really work without some players that can cover several positions.

Yet both play in positions where we already have about 7 other options.

True, but how many of those options have played more gametime in those positions then these two over pre season?

Ricardo and Thomas sure. VK has been injured so we can't really count him but I reckon Marti fancies these two over most of those options at the FB positions.

Wasn’t expecting him in the squad today and he’s captain, not a chance he goes imo.

Hopefully it's the same as Coady, make him captain and then sell him the week after.

I didn’t think of that, but recon first league game sends a bigger statement than a friendly.

Thought he looked a shadow of himself today, but made some good runs off the ball and is clearly more likely to get into the box than Thomas.

even if unspectacular, I think Luke Thomas is maturing into a steady LB….

EXCL: Everton are to begin talks with Leicester City for the signing of James Justin. - Understood that Leicester value the right back at £7m. Everton have wanted a new right back all summer after missing out on Kenny Tete. Justin wants return to Premier League. #EFC #LCFC
