Needs looking after, he's got the perfect mix of bite and a calm head when needed.

 

Not the finished article, one or two bits of iffy positioning, but I already feel more comfortable watching us when he's on the pitch. Hope he stays fit during this busy period.

 

If Souttar does end up featuring when he's back fit I'm actually quite excited about our defensive prospects after Christmas.

I agree. I have been very outspoken about his lack of involvement and think we have lost our chance to keep him.

 

If he isn’t signing, better off trying to sell him in January or the summer as tribunal are unlikely to be better for us.

Bigger and stronger manager would have started the season with him and moved aside the likes of Faes and Winks.

I actually think when he has played, he has raised Vestergaard’s game which has in turn helped Thomas. Didn’t Thomas look quite good prior to Nelson’s injury too? 
 

Shows what a difference a steady head can make back there. For his age as well.

Because he can cover his lack of pace, and is a selfless type of character

The problem for me is that I watched the majority of pre season and it was obvious he's our best centre half. 

 

When Marti decides his best two are Faes and Vestergaard you have to think what the **** is this guy smoking.

when you consider how few games he’s played  for us, the. it makes you very optimistic  how he can continue to grow as a player.  He’s probably not even fully match fit or match sharp… 5 more games and he could look totally settled.

He’s got to surpass Barnes still. But a season and a bit of this and it’s likely.

He’s got 6yrs to achieve what both Barnes & KDH have/are achieving thus far so plenty of time.

 

He could surpass them given his position as fewer CBs than midfield/wide players & they generally last longer.

He now needs a good run of games / seasons then start to hunt down the next crop of England CBs & hopefully come 27 he’s a regular in that squad.

 

Either way got a vgood career ahead of him 🤞
