I still think he will go on to have a good career but he needs to eliminate the mistakes. Even against Bristol City he gave away a needless pen.

He needs to be rotated in and out. It’s too much pressure for him to be the regular lead CB. Lascelles in next week and let Nelson alternate with him.

I will be amazed if he is even playing in a few years, absolute rubbish

He is a good player, but like most of the team his confidence is completely shot.

He is out of contract at the end of the season, but cannot see him wanting to stay. Next year's team is going to be miserable to watch.

A good player:blink:

I still think there's potentially a really good player in there but he absolutely needs a cool head alongside him to basically marshall him at this stage of his career..

Lets not forget he gave the penalty away that nearly ruined the game against Bristol.

On a very poor run of form.

Let's not forget his positivity also set the tone for a lot of what went well in that game

I feel for the guy. Worked his ass off for years to get into our first team and when he does he’s got Thomas to his left and Okoli to his right. And a shite keeper behind him.

He’s not great but being asked to play in a back four that bad is going to unnerve anybody

Positivity following a penalty save?

Most worrying thing was the way he completely gave up for the first goal. Lets his man go, pulls up thinking he’s about to shoot, then is too slow to get to the eventual shot. Not the attitude we need

He looks silky on the ball, reminds me a little bit like Alan Hansen. If he grows up to be half as good we will have a decent player on our hands.

However, like most of the youngsters that have come in to our team in recent years whether on loan in the first team, they have been under-par.

I remember reading something that Arsene Wenger wrote about bringing in "wonderkids" into the team too early, you have every chance of ruining them by putting high expectations. Page, Monga and Nelson havent joined some happy bunch but they have been expected to win us points straight away which is too much to expect.

Nelson will be a decent player but lets cut the lad some slack. I understand many are upset in the club but lets not turn on one of our youth players

What a shite post, surely him being the pinnacle of a bad defence he’d want to be all over it, not getting done by a long ball and sliding in to score an oggy when there’s no one around him. I was a big advocate of getting him involved earlier in the season but he absolutely hasn’t improved the defence 1 iota

Reactionary post

To what? his awful showings  all season. He is terrible ,has zero awareness to the players around him and nothing that makes me think he will have much of a career as a footballer. Okoli is awful, but if you watch them both it is usually Okoli who has attempted the header or clearance(badly half the time) Nelson is watching planes fly across the sky. Some of his attempted headers are laughable, misses them by miles. Today was the culmination of a dreadful player who should be no where near our first team, since coming into the team we/him have been horrific leaking even more goals than the rubbish before him, which is some acheivement.

He’s the new Luke Thomas. Just look at the posts. People seem to struggle to think more widely than ‘playing badly = Anstey Nomads level’ and consider that it could be the environment for some of the players.

How is it someone else's fault whenever he does something wrong or has a bad game?

Its not his surroundings, its not the pitch, its not the ball....

Hes just w@nk.

Bottom line is he is too slow.

If defenders are that slow they need to be positionally excellent,he unfortunately isn't. He looks ok with the ball but nothing special. Probably

He might improve and become a half decent  league one player.

This team is a lead weight.  A graveyard.  You Could put any player in it and he would sink to the mean level.  It happened to Jakub, it's happening to ben

Prior and after the penalty he was good on Tuesday, you clearly won't be told otherwise man like you won't be told Jakub isn't very good

The Luke Thomas who started today and has quite a lot?

The Luke Thomas who even when he has played quite well gets pulled apart and many can’t bring themselves to give any positive words to. Same is true with Nelson.

To be fair, all of them really need to move on as too much water is under the bridge. Maybe Aluko, Page and Braybrooke.

How do you know? Why the **** would Nelson be head down in the turf if the keeper didn’t call. He wouldn’t, he’d be having a go at him.
No one’s prepared to admit that Nelson really isn’t all that. Defensive liability.

i am he is absolutely rubbish and must be dropped
