Every player has his price. As much as we would all be disappointed if he were to be sold, if somebody offers silly money (maguire, mahrez , Chilwell fofana etc) then he goes and good luck to him.

Most on here have been saying we need to return to our old model of selling one or two big assets a year and reinvesting in the next crop of potential, yet now are moaning as soon as there is a rumour that we might sell. The problems come, not when letting talent go, but when the money is either not re-invested, or the gambles don't pay off.

His injury is the only thing that will keep him here for 1 more season. He would have been gone too if not.

Enjoy him this season, Rudkin will be desperate to sell him next Summer.

Financial consolidation and stability.

A 2 or 3 year stint in the Championship, whilst we develop young talent and scout

hungry players with potential.Get promoted

With a young and improving squad low cost with no carried over Financial issues.

Big contracts going forwards only for

retention of proven players.

That's the plan.

Thanks Jon.

If you could ask your boy Anthony to put that out as a press release we'd accept that at this stage. Because here we were thinking there wasn't actually a plan at all.

My eight-year-old has been diagnosed with both conditions but I assure you there would be a vast improvement if he were appointed Director of Communications tomorrow. I mean you'd probably have to endure detailed press releases about the electronics used in the turnstiles and tweets about the type of laundry liquid used to wash the players' kits, but you'd get to hear the important stuff too...

Director Of Overcommunications would be a massive redemption curve from the director of Undercommunucations who must spend 6 days a week on the putting green

I’m surprised Everton are even looking atm. They are going to have alcaraz and ndiye available for the right as you’d assume grealish takes the lw role

can’t see them splashing more than 30m now

Grealish played more central at Villa than he ended up doing at Man City, so wouldn't surprise me if he was played as an attacking mid with N'diye staying on the left as he has rarely featured on the right in his career.  They don't have a proper right winger in the entire squad.  And long may that continue....

I think that where they wanted KDH. That’s how they lined up for the first game anyway

I looks like the club have held their ground, thankfully, but with a week left will someone come in with the 'cant turn that down' price point.

I doubt it after the ACL. In a way Abdul doing his ACL last year could be a blessing in disguise to our season this year.

I know it's reality, but I'm still having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that the likes of Palace and Fulham can take our best players.

How can this be possible?  I'm still working through denial.  It might take some time to get to acceptance.

Although in fairness, as things stand neither of those clubs have taken any of our players, let alone our best ones.

However we did sign their cast offs in Ayew, Edouard and BDR.  Which is just as bad.  Maybe worse.

Football is cyclical. They will both burn out and go down at some point.
