I do think there is a younger new breed who are willing and have a desire to follow their team home and away consistently and make noise but to complain about the priority system again they are shut out from accessing the opportunities

A lot of ‘younger’ fans around me today, very little noise, disappeared 15 minutes before half time cam back 20 minutes after. Their knowledge of football and its rules was dire. Most effort was before kick off abusing Ruskin. If they are an example of new support god help us.

We've always had a strong sitting element. Think it changed around the League One season and I stood a lot more at away matches from then on.

I'm some someone will take offence to this but I do think winning the league and everything that happened killed off a lot of passion a lot of fans, and generalising the older section, as they've seen the I thinkable what else is there to see. And instead of wanting more it's killed off that passion and will to see more success and this is now nothing more than a hobby for some people to get out the house at weekends.

Seems the highest priority are the least vocal fans, always the 2k or less are shocking. I remember the camera panning around the away end pre game and our average away fan is literally about 65. Sure Stoke and Derby away were bigger numbers last season and were really good

I dread to think what it's gonna look and sound like on those days where we only have a very small ticket allocation that's all been taken by these top tier Coach 1ners.

Yeah not sure why this seems to be ignored on this thread. People make it out like everyone is 66 and and ancient and yet my experience in the away end was not that today at Notts C.

 

But of course all it needs is points reform. That'll change everything straight away, and the young people who are sacred stiff to make noise above the concourse will be unleashed 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I realised a fair while ago that the "young" support are more interested in taking gear and getting shots of chants in the concourse for their Instagram page than anything that happens up in the stands. This has been going on for years - the last time we had any consistency in our away following being loud and proud was the tail end of the 2010s, and it's been largely awful since Covid.

 

The Coach 1 brigade are a problem, but a bit like the club as a whole, the rot in the atmosphere runs a lot deeper than many realise. You occasionally get an away day like Preston 2024 or Derby last year that shows we still have a belting support in us when it "clicks", but those days are far, far too rare. I wasn't there today, but like others have said - that was our "big local derby" today. We won't get anything close, maybe Peterborough at a push, in terms of anything with a hint of "edge" to it this season. That was the peak. It does not bode well for anything other than a flat, lifeless support all season, of people ticking off grounds but not really arsed about supporting the team.

I think as a fanbase we are vocally quite poor, our song book lacks any creative or decent songs, we are struggling with large scale divisions and a loss of true passion (which is mirrored by the players and board)

 

I will partially amend what I said earlier on this thread that there is a younger generation who want to make noise - I think there is a proportion of younger fans who want to create more of an atmosphere at home and away and that is reflected by union fs and the larger members of the SK1,G1, P and L1 standing sections who try to create 'some' atmosphere but that does contain a portion of fans who see games as Green Street reenactments and want to spend the whole game recording the away end after buying their first stone island jumper (not to say everyone who wears a stoney is a wannabe hooligan)

Was in the home end. I thought we were pretty loud for the first 10/15 minutes or so. Loud after the goal. But things took a predictable twist.

 

The problem is as much as this used to bother me I think the fans are being served absolute utter rubbish now. The club continuously taking the piss out of them. I'm finding it hard to have a go at people for losing their enthusiasm.

We have a chant thread on here and many songs are great and catchy which can easily be transferred into the stands.. I ain’t got the voice to start it on my own, but all it takes is 5 or so home and away singing a few and it’ll soon latch on.. 

 

that’s why I wouldn’t critique ufs too much of who I stand behind (maybe just some mild feedback in the past ) as they do a great job in trying to create at least some atmosphere.. I ain’t saying they have to start off all these new ones but it would help  

Do fans not have sing songs in pubs pre match/try new material then. Remember seeing a

clip of a pub singing the mavididi chant pre match one time and it being put on Twitter.. that’s the way to do it.. 

 

Edit.. just seen Leicester fan tv tweeting about fans being in fine voice in a pub before the game.. excitedly turned on the volume.. la la la Leicester

I think it's just a really crappy trend in this country. We are bad for it and I don't go anymore so can't say for sure but I could count on one hand the number of away ends I thought were any good at our place post covid.

Think away fans are the old guard or relatives of them. We’ve had season tickets three years and never have enough points for away games so no idea how new supporters get to these games.

At away games, as at home, the majority of the fanbase are mute window-lickers who won't hear a bad word said about Rudkin or anyone else in the City hierarchy.

 

The 2k allocation - far less than we used to take to Meadow Lane in the 80s and 90s - didn't do us any favours, though.

 

The trip to the franchise - who are giving us far more tickets - will show if there if there is any hope whatsoever of redemption.
