Decision to sell hinges on who the club feel they can replace him with, and what Winks’ reaction might be. Is he the kind of player who might not give us his best if he is not allowed to go?

Sounds like the logic of a well run club, not Leicester.

People need to realize that if and when we sell BEK, Winks and Fatawu, as well as long GOAT, Wilf AND mads, with the impending points deduction, the boards inability to buy any replacements we are in a relegation battle.

The sooner people realize the seriousness of our position the better

Did you realise (we’re not American) that we didn’t sell Jamie Vardy…..

Seeing as we bought him for not that much and when we were relegated. I'd be surprised if he was on 90pw. Unless he got it in his contract for promotion.

Has him joining and leaving 90k spurs contract for 51k a week in the champ 🤔

Whereas Capology and Spotrac (who I'm fairly confident just lift the capology figures) had him at 50kpw at Spurs before joining us.  But they also list him as on the same money in the champ for us as in the Prem.

Is that what his reduced wage is in the Champ?

I very much doubt he would renew at this point on anything less than his existing terms and in my opinion he ain’t worth north of £50k in the Championship and £90k per week should we go back up. If the numbers are correct as previously reported it’s bloody criminal to be paying players of his calibre more than £30k a week in the champ and £50k per week in the premier league.

Southampton are turning down £30 million bids for Fernandes and Dibling, and we're happy getting £18 mil for Mads, £9 mil for Wilf, and the possibility of BEK and Fatawu off.

Definitely time to panic.

I think wages play a massive part in this, I bet both of those players are on a fraction of what Wilf was earning, if Wilf was on £40k per week we could have commanded a bigger fee. Clubs will pay a higher fee for players if wages are lower, we have hamstrung ourselves by having players like Wilf, Justin, Winks, Coady, Faes, Vesty, Soumare and Daka on big contracts so we then have to accept low ball offers on fees to try and make the deals work.

Interesting he didn't celebrate when he scored yesterday. For me he is a must keep if we want a chance of promotion.

He will know about the fan criticism of him and it seems he hasn’t taken it well.

Didn’t clap the fans when he came out to warm up on Sunday, didn’t clap when he went down the tunnel after his interview with Sky post game. Then obviously celebrated the way he did yesterday.

He either wants to leave or has a big bee in his bonnet with us fans for not backing him last season, or both.

Wilf could have left for free last summer, getting 9m is a coup.

You can't compare the market for keepers to outfield players

To be honest the bee in his bonnet should be with Ruud who didn't play him and whom he fell out with and also Cooper didn't really play him did he? Not sure why the fans are being roped into his frustration. He didn't exactly stamp his authority on many games in the PL last season either.

He was telling people in the back end of last season he would never play for the club again. Its not just the managers he has an issue with its all of the upper management aswell as they in his words allowed the treatment to happen to him and didn't back him.

Yeah completely agree, it’s annoyed me a lot. He seems to have handled this situation pretty poorly and immaturely I think and it doesn’t reflect well on him. If he wasn’t class at this level I’d say get rid, but he’s a cut above our midfield which is shit at the moment.

We don’t know the fully story to be fair only what we hear

Not sure upper management getting involved with a disciplinary matter seemingly instigated by the then manager would be a particularly good idea. Ruud was crap, but that would have totally undermined him.

Unless there was an agreement in place around him commuting when he signed which ruud ignored and then the board didn’t step in and say there was an agreement in place? All ifs and buts I know but don’t put anything past them!

Well if that's true, he can piss right off then. Don't want to be here? Off you go.

good the upper management should absolutely stay out of those things unless the player makes a formal complaint in which case they should get an outside body in to investigate it. Otherwise you completely undermine the manager

Get the feeling he's only playing well at the minute to justify himself to a future employer.

I wonder how bad he will be after the window shuts, & his agent hasn't found anyone to pay a fee, & take on his gargantuan contract.
