They've had a great start to the league.  They should be aiming for promotion so might rest a couple?  If we make wholesale changes and they don't, it could be a tricky night.

Would love to build some momentum and have a cup run.  Hope we win

I would go with very minimal changes, Marti needs time to set the system. Mav for Monga, Alves for BEK to ramp young Will up in case Billy leaves, and Nelson for Jannik.

Aim for Page, Braybrooke, Evans, Aluko, Joseph to get game time.

Didn’t they also have Bruno Fernandes on the bench for Sheffield Wednesday? I think I heard someone saying?

Change a fair few for this, I’d only keep ones in that I think need more awakening to EFL football.

                  Begovic

Hamza Nelson Okoli Aluko

                Soumare

         Page.           Alves

McAteer.                     Monga

                  Daka

Hopefully see Evans, Braybrooke and Joseph on the bench

Quick Q. My lad and I normally drive or get train to away games. This time, we are going on the supporters coaches. Never done that before. Do they pick up opposite family stand?  Is the email confirmation all i need to board? Spose I could ring club but taking the lazy option asking here 🤣

It is a cup game not league.

Hopefully he picks all the youth, it will be a good test and we'll see if they're as good as everyone thinks.

Huddersfield Pre-Match Press Conference

Injuries

Ricardo has "started to train with the group today so that’s a positive one. It’s not too long until we’ll see him."

Kristiansen "will be assessed further by the club’s medical staff".

De Cordova-Reid could be out more long term.

On yesterday’s win and performance

In terms of the whole performance I can’t say it was amazing, particularly the first half. But it’s important that we had the capacity to react and that’s what I value the most. It’s something that’s important for me and the ability to make adjustments.

On Wout Faes

I spoke with Wout and learned more about his time here, his feelings. All the players want to do their best and it’s not easy when you feel under pressure or scrutiny.

I can’t speak about before I came, since I arrived he’s been training well. Yesterday he helped us a lot, not just the goal but our approach with the ball. Hopefully the fact that he played well, and the manager is happy with him, this can create the right platform for everybody to have a positive feeling.

On expectations for Huddersfield game

I expect a difficult game. A good team, physically strong and we need to be ready because they’ll be aggressive in the way they press. We need to be ready, mentally as well, because we want to have a good run in the cup.

On changes for the game

You saw yesterday that I used the five subs. I’m a believer in the impact of players from the bench. We’ll assess the squad today but it might be that we make changes. The game might require different options than the Sheffield Wednesday game.

If he expects more players to leave after Ndidi and Hermansen

No, I don’t know what’s going to happen. I cannot predict the future but it’s work in progress. It’s the same for all clubs in the country. I would prefer that the market is closed once the season is starting, but that’s the reality. The market is open so we just focus on the things we can control.

Any further bids received for players

Nothing new at the moment

So that’s two “positive ones” then
