Have you been on the booze? Because you really sound irrational and aggressive tonight towards a lad who’s really not been given a decent opportunity or treated all that well by our club. I don’t get your hate.

irrational and aggressive 😂 there isn’t hate at all he’s just not good enough for Leicester city football IMO

8 starts. 1 goal. 3 assists in a poor Cardiff team.

He was better as an impact sub than starting games I believe. My Cardiff supporting mate said he was largely ineffective when starting games. He did say he’d have taken him back for the season though.

I don’t think he was particularly good last night, but it’s worth remembering that it was the first time he’s ever started for us. Despite him seemingly being around for quite a while, he’s actually played very little first team football for us or anyone.

We need to give him the season. 1 goal in 14 last season suggests he’s not going to have the impact we all want him to, but to write him off after one poor game (where the whole team was pretty poor) is silly.

They say his best position is a no.10, I really don’t see it. The modern era requires some pace and physicality and he lacks that. He’d be better off on the LW in a possession based team

There’s only so much you can with absolute rotters like Skipp & Soumare behind you

Try and find space would be a good starting point. He was quiet, never used any space for someone to give him the ball.

Alves starting his first game with dumb and dumber next to him. Offering absolutely no support. If we are going to “play the kids” we’ve got to be prepared for inconsistency. Good days/bad days. This was a not so good game but to judge him

after one, where he played alongside two pretenders is unfair and irrational.

was thinking that too, bit hard for Alves to do much when youve got Skipp and Soumare behind him, who frankly have stunk the place out the past 6 months

sad thing is people will judge Alves on this game;

even when Alves was in space neither Soumare or Skipp passed him the ball

Im not going to give Alves flack on his performances as other frankly were alot alot worse than him and stayed on

The biggest problem is, he was hyped as much as Monga at the same age and hasn’t hit those levels.

People are judging him on Monga and Page who are clearly ahead of where Will was at the same age.

He needs game time on a regular basis now.

think going back to Cardiff would be good for him.

Loan to league 1 and consistent starts needed.

Whether we can afford to let him go is a different question.

Why?He was loaned championship level last season and showed good signs. Why drop a level even further.

He needs games and he needs and he needs to be allowed to have games where he just doesn’t play well. It’s not as if he was the only one.

I thought he looked alright as well lol thought he was harshly pulled at half time anyway.

I really like the look of Page but think he's more of a box to box than a #10.

I’m not saying he was blameless but come on. He was surrounded by Soumare, Skipp, Mcateer & Daka.

Id like to see him with Fatawu & Winks close to him

Was he? - im not sure of this. Beyond this forum I don't think many people would have heard of him. There was definitely interest before his injury as he was playing exceptionally well at academy level, so any excitement was warranted, but i never remember there being a massive hype train. There has justifiably been much more noise about Monga.

He wasn't great last night, but let's remember more established players were just as poor in the 45 minutes he was on the pitch and the majority of them have more minutes under their belts so far this season. I thought he popped up in the right places centrally but we lacked any real attacking options via that route, maybe he has the potential to be more dangerous on the wing, I'd certainly be happy to see him used more regularly coming on as a sub and give him the opportunity to make an impact.

To be ready to be a star at that level for us when we get there lol

The ACL injury would knock anyone back and especially at such a critical stage. He deserves time still and it to be taken gradually. That might mean another loan deal and eventually may lead to our paths diverging but we shouldn’t be too harsh. He is one of our own and a good lad. Some of the other youngsters have moved ahead and that’s great too. Just what we wanted to see and positive signs for seagrave and the academy set up.

Only, Kids not shit. Kids just didn't rip top of L1 a new butt hole in the 2nd game of the season.

Fat chance you get this nuanced critique of our players especially from the ones who clearly deserve more reserved judgement.

Unlike say Soumare who seems to have played constantly and consistently performed doggo Will Alves has not been given a chance. Yet he’s had it according to some.

Imagine being judged on your performances while the rest of your team mates are consistently shite but your expected to perform miracles from the few chances you get because those that judge you expect you to single handily assist and score like your Messi.

He needs more chances and he needs to be afforded some support by his own fan base. We need the dross out and we need to give the likes of will a chance but for god sake get used to us not be title challengers that way we may just give a certain core of players time and support to reach their potential.

He was definitely hyped and people outside were aware of him, like any kid that plays for the young England teams.

He was also on that skills programme on BBC.

Wasn't just this forum.

Don’t think he was given a fair chance last night. Too many times when there was a chance to pass to him in space, the ball was passed sideways away from him. It was a bit like watching Vardy playing for England when Delli Ali would sooner have passed the ball to the opposition rather than Vardy. I felt it was like that last night.

That’s not hype though. That’s just reporting on a quality academy kid. The post said he was hyped up.

This is part of the challenge Marti has now. To be able to assess and nurture these players. So many were off it yesterday that it was a tough environment to shine in.

Ideally we need a game where we're looking pretty comfortable at 60 and he can come on for a team playing with a bit of confidence. He needs to be in and around the squad this season otherwise I think his future lies elsewhere.
