Even if we did have an embargo you can start 5 loan players In a matchday squad so far from the end of the world.

But we don’t have an embargo…..

When are people going to learn that there’s a huge, huge difference between what journalists  think we’re going to be deducted, what the EFL/Premier League WANT to deduct from us, and what our representatives will achieve for us in the independent panel.

The EFL/PL both made multiple accusations and charges against us in the last two years. They failed to prove a single one against us. In fact, they actively managed to prove we hadn’t broken any of their rules. Worse, THEY are the ones who had broken their own rules. They even admitted their own rules were poorly written. We’re literally 4-0 up.

Ignore the likes of Dorsett making predictions. It’s not based upon anything other than guesswork, ignorance of what’s actually happened, and fealty to the hand that feeds.

This is most likely the EFL planting stories in the press to prejudice our transfer activity. The PL did the same last season.

I’m going to start blaming Richard Masters for signing Oliver Skipp.

You lot talk like the efl actually follow any standard structure.

they make things up as they go along. It’s probably not an embargo but we’ve agreed to a business plan. If we break that we’d be deducted points as it’s a sign we have no intention of complying.

It’s basically an agreed to embargo and why we were strongly against doing one for the efl in January last time.  If we sell bilal im sure we would have met what we had said we would and can likely move for players but spending 13m on a striker would probably break that… hence why we’d want a loan

You know this how?

A few probablys and a likely leads me to think it’s quite likely that you’re probably taking a guess at it.

I wish we had one to be honest, would do wonders for PSR.

If we ever get promoted again soon, we wwill need to probably sign 10+ players spending at least 9 figures, cant do that if we keep bouncing off the ceiling of PSR.

This is where the club can help out big time. If this article about a transfer embargo is pish then the club should release a statement. If there is some truth, then they need to communicate that with us. Will the club help us....go no.

Loans should still be an option and we need to get a few in. We're a few injuries away from disaster.

Also, it shows the EFL make things up as they go along and their rules stink. It smells of having a rules that can be set to suit the EFL and not to actually help us in any way. They would love us to go out of business or relegated to prove a point and that is no way to run an institution.

I keep saying it, football is broken.

Our hierarchy would struggle to scramble an egg. If they're gonna make stuff up, they at least need to make it believable.

Our actions (or lack thereof) do suggest we are under an embargo, even if it’s self imposed/an agreement with authorities to show we are changing and not officially an embargo. My guess is following discussions with authorities we have agreed to behave a certain way to show we are serious about complying with rules going forward, given our multiple very near misses with the EFL and prem in recent years.

We can argue that we have done everything we reasonably can to comply when acting in this manner.

I personally don’t think we will sign anyone for a fee this window.

I think you’re spot on to be honest.

I think it’s a “self imposed” embargo. We are so desperate not to get a deduction so we are essentially just stripping out assets, and recouping as much money as we can. I agree with you, we won’t sign anyone. The board are going to gamble on a stab at the play offs and then go from there. Such is the delusion at the board level.

What is right though? Do you just spend the money like some are, and take the deduction and just hope you accumulate enough points to go up, or do you sell all of your key assets, and essentially reset the club… but it’s likely we still can’t spend a great deal anyway because all we are doing is clawing back the deficit.

It would explain an awful, we may not be under one now but it may be party of our business plan. That would explain our lack of transfer business as well as bringing on the someone like silko Thomas yesterday. Perhaps mavidid is off and we know we are unable to bring someone in.
