Vestergaard should be stronger, but Skipp dosing with the runner until after the ball was played

You're taught to be goal side before you even play with a size 5 ball.

It's not like Skipp hasn't had time to react to that. No excuse for it.

Absolutely horrific from Skipp. YOU'RE LOOKING STRAIGHT AT HIM FFS. DO YOUR ****ING JOB.

Absolutely asleep until it's too late. And the 6ft+ Vestergaard getting pushed off the ball... again.

I prefer him to Ayew, I'd like to see him get a run of games and chance to build up some match fitness.

Watching Ayew is painful.

Hard to blame the attackers too much all in all though, The fact we mess around with the ball for 2 minutes while allowing the opposition to get into shape means that anyone will struggle for chances.

If we're going to let the other team pack the edge of their box before attempting an attack we may as well sign a Steve Howard type who might have a chance of winning some headers from crosses.

I’d be interested in the stats of Dhaka’s consecutive starts. I’m betting it’s never been six on the spin and I’d like to see him get ten, settle him down tell him his back to goal stuff isn’t bad , pick his runs carefully not fly about like a headless chicken. And if he gets 3 or 4 goals we may see a different player. It’s just he’s in the mindset of not being first choice and he panics.
There may not be a player in there, up to now definitely not, but given the others I think he deserves 6 games running minimum.

Been here three years, rarely scores, never scores regularly, why all of a sudden do people imagine he is going to start banging them in for fun….quite simply, we don’t have a player to score 15+ goals……

Not sure who you mean but the worrying thing is that this applies to everyone at the club.

Choudhury, James, Winks, Monga, BDR and Fatawu to a certain extent had good games.

Stolarzcyk was neither here nor there.

Faes and Vestergaard are ****KKKINNNGGGG SHIT. Play with a fag on until someone runs at them and they go to pieces entirely. Will refer to them as the Jigsaw boys from now on.

Thomas and Kristiansen both got owned by their wingers.

Skipp is an ABOMINATION of a footballer. Was smiling like he had a frontal lobotomy when he came on, immediately got booked and never once looked like he could get near the ball.

Mavididi was allergic to taking on his man.

and

DAKA - well **** me sideways, he played like he was on ice skates and speed at the same time. almost like a comediy performance by one of the worlds most skilled physicall comedians. except it wasn't.

Ricardo, Okoli, Nelson, Page, Ramsey, ANY ABLE BODIED YOUTH TEAM STRIKER please save us....

It's the walking when he assumes it's being seen out before trying to dash back at the last moment. Vestergaard should do better, but Skipp giving up running and then dashing as he's reacting too late sums us up

Sorry, Fatawu did NOT have a good game, that Fatawu is the bad Fatawu. He obviously gets a pass but please don’t reframe it, it was grim.

Fatawu tries his best but has been worked  out.midfieldr steps right and ties in with full back to double up and stop him coming inside and shorten any route out side.

No other tricks at the moment needs some coaching.

I much prefer neither of them .... bit of a difference but I would try a forward 3 of Monga .. Mav and Fats and let them rotate .. most decent footballers are two footed so they should be able to cope

I was thinking this earlier too. Every single one.

You could do a reel of the goals and it wouldn’t look out of place in a bloopers reel. Imagine if we cut that shit out. We would be doing a Burnley of last year winning games by a single goal. All unforced errors…..

How does that work out to him needing some coaching?  Has he got to learn to beat 2+ players every time now then?

Surely what needs to happen is Marti needs to give him options and support from other players. If he's being doubled up on then someone is open.

He's not been "found out" unless the term just means he's incapable of beating an incessant wall of players whenever he gets the ball.

some people on here were rating our summer window at like 7s and 8s out of 10 lol

Well we did trim the squad quite a bit. Getting the kind of money we did for Justin, Coady, Hermansen and McAteer was welcome and probably unexpected. Securing Monga and Page also good for the future. Realistically we could have gotten rid of Winks, Kristiansen, Soumaré and Faes too, so not doing that is obviously a blot on the record.

We were never realistically getting rid of Reid, Ayew, Daka, Skipp or Vestergaard.

Considering no changes at the top were made, that's probably as good as anyone could've hoped for :dunno:

Any team that plays us know they will get 3 or 4 decent chances from self inflicted errors .... and as last night costs us the points

First time I've heard Marti post match and his words don't back up his actions in that second half.  Sounded like Brendan, full of nonsense, he must've been at a different game second half to the one I was watching.

Embarrassing from all involved.

Agreed he needs help and the hole created by the doubling up could be exploited by our midfield. However if he keeps coming inside and trying an unsuccessful curling shot with his left foot he becomes predictable and fairly easy to contain. As a young player with pace and ferocity he needs help developing alternative moves

and honing these.
