Basically the argument for keeping him comes down to ‘might as well’ or in other words ‘cba’. It’s not like you, brookfox, has to do anything. We know the manager isn’t very good and we would like a better one. Better managers exist IF our club was willing to scout them like other clubs do. Everything else is irrelevant. Most of us know the owner won’t hire anyone good but we know they won’t sell up and we know they won’t buy decent players either. I ask this a lot, but if the manager offers nothing, or managers can’t make a difference, why have a manager at all? Shouldn’t we just let these unmanageable players manage themselves? Nobody ever suggests this which I find surprising. They are so sure that managers can’t make a difference when the players are average but want the club to spend money on someone who they admit is tactically inept, unwilling to change and doesn’t provide an ounce of entertainment. It’s more given the situation he’s in, could anyone really thrive. Let’s say we sack him and bring in a new person; they still have a dodgy squad and incompetent board. Until these things are fixed I can’t see any manager thriving. I’ve been in a position when I have a bad line manager and a sh*t team and you’re on a hiding to nothing until you can change one or the other. It’s impossible to know if Marti would thrive with a better board and motivated squad, or if another manager would do better. But given where we are (and yes this may be apathy on my part) I can’t see the point just now for gambling on a new manager transforming our fortunes. Edited 6 December 2025 by brookfox 6

South Shire Fox Posted 5 December 2025 Posted 5 December 2025 (edited) Think we will lose against Derby and this time next week he will be fighting to hang on/gone. Points deduction now and we are in the bottom 3. Club cant afford another relegation Edited 5 December 2025 by South Shire Fox 1

BrilliantFox Posted 5 December 2025 Posted 5 December 2025 Is he gone yet??? Its been a bloody week since the Sheffield match.
LichesterRedSoxSoccerBall Posted 5 December 2025 Posted 5 December 2025 It's been that long since city played good football even he was known by Jifuentes 2
Joe90 Posted 5 December 2025 Posted 5 December 2025 Not one game this season have we played well for 90 minutes, appalling team appalling manager who doesn’t have a clue how to manage 1
FrankieADZ Posted 5 December 2025 Posted 5 December 2025 imo he should have already gone, not one game this season have we played well for more than 45mins could say the Sheff U game but suddenly turning up in the second half doesnt give him no grace imo we lose tomorrow hopefully hes gone by the evening or Sunday morning as frankly hes not been good enough one single bit 1
Nolucklcfc Posted 5 December 2025 Posted 5 December 2025 Think he might go if we get turned over badly tomorrow.
Claudio Fannieri Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 In modern day football given the high wages and long contracts of players, especially now given PSR, it will always be easier to sack a manager and hope a new appointment can get a tune from a group, rather than take a financial hit moving on bad egg within a squad. It hasn’t worked out for Cifuentes here, in a similar way to Cooper, it has just never got going here, there has been no stand out 90 minute performance, just lots of little cameo’s and individual moments of magic. Personally unless he makes wholesale changes to the starting XI today and gets rid of the toxic minority then it’s just a matter of time, however I can see Eustace having our number today and Derby hitting us on the counter and comfortably beating us by 2 or 3 and it being the end for Marti.
JimJams Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 He's pretty hindered on the wholesale changes part though.
adamkhalifa Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 I really want him to turn things around, but I have seen no evidence so far. Even an idiot like me, can see that tactics have evolved. We are still trying to Pep our way with last seasons trend. Fast, direct, and aggressive football please. 1

lcfc81 Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 He needs to change the style with the players we have as its not working. Its been a bit of a pousened chalic for him so far. Late appointment, lots of players out. Few signings. But he can see its not working and needs to change how we play. I am not one for managerial changes, but if he can't see that we need someone who can.

BKLFox Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 I have a feeling something happened in the changing room at HT last w/end, the fight shown in the 2nd half was different to what we have seen thus far & the changes made…he’s hoping the CB penny has dropped & they realise they need to put a shift in and not just turn up 2
BKLFox Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 Ooh there is more into that than a technical decision when asked about Winks 😜
The Doctor Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 Cifuentes asked about Winks and just said "technical decision". That has to be Winks done then, that short and sharp a response is obviously "he's in the doghouse". 2
BigGibbo Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 "Technical decision." Think he was attempting to look strong with that curt response, but it wreaked of vulnerability. Win or bust today.

Marti getting rid of him has made the other players want it more? 1
