Don't even joke about it! :nono:

Perhaps a post for the Managerial Replacements thread, but Solskjaer doesn't get enough credit. United looked the best they have since SAF under him. Plus it wouldn't be possession obsessed football.

Just to add, Steve Walsh senior very recently left charlotte FC where one of his jobs was to oversee recruitment.

We can't keep looking backwards. I often think there's a time and place things work perfectly in football but it isn't often repeated. We need to move on from ex players or ex coaches/managers/recruitment gurus

I’d have him as Director of Football/Recruitment any day in fact I’d give him anything he wants.

I am so bored of people suggesting someone with cult status returns for this reason.

You love them, I get it, but the past is the past. Times have changed, the club has changed, they have changed. Move on. It would not be the same as it was then.

Can't believe there are people here who think we should stick with him.  A managers task is to improve players and get results. The 2 wingers and 2 cms should in theory be the leagues best. We know faes and vesty are good at this level. Instead the team looks like a local park one. He needs to go. Hes also eroding fatuwas transfer fee

I think its more recognising the proper order of events should be sort out the sporting director first who then looks at the manager (and player) situation.

The stat of him losing more than he'd was damming for me. We aren't in a brilliant place as a club, but bloody hell we're better than that. There's a reason QPR sacked him.

There's 0 game plan, the only change I've seen lately is suddenly fizzing passes between LB, LM and Winks

I would say mid table is our level, our most experienced players dont want to be here, we dont have a clinical striker, we have a football ethos that doesnt fit most of the players, we are missing some of the best players we had when in this division last time KDH, Vardy, Justin, Ndidi who ironically also put in more effort than these current arse wipes.

This reminds me of last season when half the forum thought we were a comfortable mid table EPL squad, delusions.

I think a outstanding manager would get us to the playoffs, but no higher.

At 60 minutes we had 0.05 xg and 65% possession

It's the equivalent of a drunk man trying to get in his house with the wrong key for half an hour

The usual combo.

Changing the manager won't change anything. There's deep rooted issues at the club that need sorting first.

Things like the players not trusting the club, no money, incompetent board, loads of players likely to leave as soon as they can or have tried to leave but have been unsuccessful.

It's just toxic all round on every level.

I would say that the manager is the least of our worries.

The technical director appointment comes first... followed by identification of all those to be let go.

We then need to identify the style and talent management approach going forward ....which will guide the retention and hiring off and on the field

Things are not perfect, but I also think there are managers out there who could do better with this team.

I can't see anyone with any pedigree in the game wanting to take us on right now.

We're not a project that anyone would want to be associated with.

We hear this a lot, don't we. But the fact is that there are a lot of mangers out there, who are out of work, with pedigree, that want to be in work. It comes down to; can our DOF convince a prospective new manager of 'the project', and how much we're willing to pay that man to take the project on.

Simple business really. Wish either position was my job!

Really? Can you name a few?

But an even bigger problem than the dearth of decent candidates is that we don't really have a 'project' in the way other clubs do, so even if we did manage to identify somebody with pedigree the chances of them agreeing to join us hovers around zero.

The board thinks the project is to speed run to the Premier League and then magically at least become midtable again.

We know the project is to rebuild a solid foundation first.
