yes he does do this. But watch the game. He actually passes more than people realize and this in part to the fact people focus on him  Falling over ( trying to get fouls) listen, I’m not saying he’s any good, but the falling over is the stick people beat him with which draws away from how often he passes.

No one wants their striker to be passing. They want their striker making runs in behind and getting shots away. Theres 5 lads across the midfield that can pass

Okoli and Vesty were quite solid earlier. It's only since sideshow come back we have conceded more.

It was Okoli’s passing and play with Hamza that was the huge let down.  It’s strange that a young modern day centre back has such a poor pass.

He gets the ball with his back to goal and then dribbles toward his own goal or falls over.  Attacks die when they meet Jordan Ayew.  Link up player he is not.

1000% agree.

Him, along with the Jogging Donkey Soumare  and Wout Garfunkel should never play in the shirt again.  All 3 cause more problems to our style of play and are more of a hindrance than a help.

Problem is you've got Thomas who's been the pits so far starting again with no one on the bench to replace him. He's the luckiest guy alive. He should be 3rd or 4th choice in any decent squad.

I don’t get why he can’t just try Nelson in that Doyle role. Luke has been garbage for how many games now.. baffling

all depends on where you see your goals coming from, playing away from home against a team above you in the league, it’s likely we will need someone to play with their back to goal so we can catch them on the break and play  others in. He’s not got the pace to be  hitting them on the  break himself. If he scores, I’d imagine it will be because he’s arriving into the space created by the wingers taking the ball to the line and passing back.

The fact that this thread amounts to 3 pages at nearly 10 minutes to the kick off tells me that the selection isn't the most controversial.

Either that or people have been bludgeoned into submission by recent games.

Ricky and Okoli in is a big positive. Always like that midfield. Thomas and Ayew need upgrading in Jan and I'd be broadly OK with that.

Obviously agree that Aluko, Evans and Nelson need opportunities from the bench.

Will probably be intimidated today - 3-0 loss? :dunno:

I could very easily be proven wrong, but even with our defence (even with Faes playing) we're not bad enough to ship goals. Not in this league anyway. We just lack any sort of goal threat too. Its why we keep drawing games (mostly). We're just boring and average and devoid of ideas.

While our squad is dire (compared to what we've been used to the last 10 years) its been getting worse for a quite while, but should still have enough to be doing better than we seem to be.

Ayew is purely there  for the link up play. They’ll attack and leave space. Expect the wingers to invert more and Ayew will feed them and JJ

But he doesn't link up play , he holds onto the ball too long and 'runs' down blind alleys

Your line up is very young!!

Going to be an interesting game.

Players to watch out for, for us,

Mazou-Sacko (A young Kante in the making)
Ballo - Looks composed and took Stoke apart last Tuesday with ease.

Azeez - 3 goals in 3 games, been injured a lot since we signed him, at times unplayable.

Ivanovic - Class striker, not hit his best form yet this season, but starting to show it.

Our weak link - Cundle, been hit with injuries in midfield this season.

I'm looking forward to seeing Monga for the first time. Heard good things about him. Should be an exciting game, we are no longer the sit behind the ball and defend side. We also no longer have a shit keeper (Benda), he has got injured and his replacement looks a lot better.

Really like the pink kit, but the sponsorship is poorly placed on the front. Looks like some iron on garbage.
