As bad as the top seven have been, our tail is winding me up even more.

Atkinson, Carse and Archer would all be batting at 8 (9 at worst) for Australia but they cannot be arsed to do anything other than swing.

Boland can’t hold a bat and he pissed it. Even Doggett got 13!

Most of them are on easy street, they all play like they're in the team for the long haul. Maybe these big bucks central contracts aren't helping anymore.

John Rudkin has to be involved

Had a blast in Brisbane today on Brisbane Jet Ski tours

As for the cricket- crap. The best part of the test was Root digging in and Jacks and Stokes’ partnership yesterday.

Bazball is the equivalent of possession football. Usually completely ineffective and you’re left looking like a laughing stock. Along other similarities though, those who are the main advocates of it are too stubborn to admit it’s crap

Pleased for Crawley too who went some way to answering his many doubters (me included)

It’s a style of play fans and pundits love when Bazball works but once the shots don’t pay off and we lose rather badly and meekly criticism will come .

Particularly after a lot of hype going into this tour and the expectation we would be very competitive.

Not 2-0 down in effectively 6 days .

Aggers has written a very good article via BBC.
Pretty much saying it was never sustainable & is easy to counter.
It’s had its day basically.

He's right, but I think some of the criticism just borders on ridiculous - he slags Stokes off for teeing off a few years ago, even though he's been probably our most conservative batsman more recently. I just don't think we're good enough - we've tried every which way and every approach has failed - it's not like the conservative cricket under Silverwood did much good. Maybe it's a talent thing and the mentality is just a way of trying to shrug off the lack of ability? Crawley and Pope would be nowhere near the Australian team.

Personally I'd like to see Key get the sack and they give Vaughan the job. Firstly, it removes him from my tv screen and radio, and then he actually has to put his money where his mouth is by actually delivering. Bloke dines out on McGrath treading on a ball constantly.

Cannot believe that archer is somehow becoming the fall guy here. There’s so many more people to blame ahead of him.

Australia are such a sensitive bunch - start whinging if anyone has a go at them. Personally I like it.

Great points there.
I think it’s definitely a mentality problem. They have an abundance of talent.
Brook is a prime example. Tons of talent, but has let his ego take over.
We keep hearing, ‘He’s number 2 in the world, has an average of 50' etc. But that will soon change if he carries on with the, 'That’s the way l play' attitude.
l keep banging on about it, but our reading of a match situation is shockingly bad.

A lot of players have fallen into the trap of baz-ball being a go for it at all times motto when I don't think Stokes actually wants this. First time I've seen him look visibly annoyed and questioned the attitudes.

Stokes wants his side to be aggressive and back themselves but that doesn't mean be stupid. However, you can't deny he's made mistakes as captain too, both in game and with the preparation.

As been said already, we've lost matches in Australia playing all types of styles but it's a horrible look when it appears so carefree.

The bowlers get stick, and they did bowl poorly, and there is no point Archer being all aggressive and having words when the game is lost.

Think it was Broad that I heard saying that too many players, particularly the bowlers, aren't making their own minds up, setting their own fields or deciding what they want to do it. Not sure if that's whether they feel they aren't allowed to or just aren't capable.

Has Crawley answered his doubters? This series so far is exactly the issue with him

The football comparison is a good one, in the same way I’d say it works better at home.

The boundaries in the first game and to some extent the second almost completely nullify its power. Some of the equivalent distances you’d be hitting a six at Trent bridge into the back of the net at the city ground lol

Ive gone the long way round, but essentially we need a back up idea for different circumstances!!

It’s very hard to see any way back. Get himself sorted and use him in the 50 over games. Such a shame.
