Would you boycott?

  1. 1. Season ticket holders - are you willing to boycott the next 3 games? (i.e. not turn up at all?)

Any luck?

I’ve genuinely done about 10 home games in 2 seasons, but I have sold it a few times. I’ve never had any issues or threats about my ticket being cancelled.

I'm sure there's no minimum attendance rule here (yet). It would have been picked up already if there was.

Interesting I remember a year where the seats next to me were empty until boxing day as His wife had brought them and only gave them to him and their son on Christmas Day

Although that was at filbert street ... which was a long time ago - so not relevant, but I still find it funny

The waiting list for a season ticket is likely declining by the day.

Perhaps I could then get my seat back if I showed interest? lol

At the moment, can't be justified as it's not just the game you're investing in, it's the hassle of getting in and out of town.  Takes up to 5 hours of the day just to get there to take no enjoyment whatsoever in attending and then to mull it over on the way home.

This thread shows exactly why a protest will be so hard to pull off. On page 1 there’s people citing club rules and cacking themselves the club might punish them.

Part of the reason why the Sheffield Wednesday protest worked so well was that half their away end couldn’t get in the stadium. They were forced to stay outside because the inside was full and health and safety couldn’t permit more to enter. There will have been a big chunk of those outside who would have made their way straight to the seats were they let in.

If you want to do the no-show protest, it needs to be an away game with a small concourse and you’d need to be in before the Coach 1/KPFC types even get through the turnstile.

Banners, anti board chants, tennis balls, coming in late, gather around directors area at full time …

All worthy... but good luck getting any traction with our limp wristed fan base.

The KPFC clappers won't even entertain it, as the Nepo Baby and KP can do no wrong, and they don't see anything as wrong.

The blue rince 70+ brigade who have thrown abuse in my direction once or twice just for questioning or raising any objections to the diabolical on pitch antics, god some of those old duffers really do spout some nasty vitriol  and they too are as bad as the KPFC and won't entertain any sort of protest.

Chants may stand a chance as long as groups who are 'on side' set them off. Chants are part of football, and are infectious so others hopefully will join in, but they need just one message for the match and it to be sustained for a prolonged period. It needs to be directed at Top and enough to embarrass him even if he's not in attendance but something the media can pick up and run with, but also clear that he's culpribable.

I don’t want to sound defeatist with regards to your other suggestions but anything that needs a prop and / or coordination to set in motion just won't happen for the reasons mentioned above.

But it does need something over the next few matches...

Im trying to save people from doing it the wrong way. My mate is from up north and is a Man Utd ST holder, the club warned him they will revoke his ST if he misses a certain amount of matches.

We are not United, they run their club differently, they used to have to buy home cup games tickets as well, not sure on that these days but their waiting lists are long hence you have to attend.

Nothing like LCFC, all you get for missing a match is a daft email asking why you weren’t there.

Not sure if it’s already been mentioned, but if season ticket holders miss too many games (i.e. don’t scan at the turnstiles) you are putting your renewal at risk.

While people like myself want to protest, I don’t want to risk my ability to retain my season ticket for future years by doing it.

I’d rather go, scan in, and walk straight back out, than not attend at all.

I understand, you want to be there for Daka's testimonial season 😃

You'll be lucky to sell it now. Home games aren't even close to a sell-out now and it will only get worse when they're in form like this.

Why would you want to pay for a season ticket to NOT go?

I dont get why youre debating whether or not there is a minimum attendance rule if youre deciding not to show up after spending hundreds of pounds in the first place

And you think the club can afford to get rid of 5k season ticket holders? We barely sold all the STs this summer.

Anyway this is a pointless conversation, you don't have to scan your ticket, you can freely not attend games and not a single thing will happen. Loads of us have been doing it for years.

but yet you still keep on paying to NOT be there? whats the point of that

It means nothing in reality, as they count the tickets as sold when announcing attendances anyway I believe.

The real boycott should begin by not buying a season ticket at the start of next season.

I think fans need to come to the realisation that they shouldn't be supporting this regime in their own time. I have come to my own realisation this last week that I won't be spending one more penny and won't be renewing my membership (and 2 children) or going to games until the club  is sold or something major happens in terms of club management.

They have turned us into consumers so lets act like them. Disgruntled ones.

That keen to guarantee your seat for League Two?

The club is a shambles, but the money we all fork out for season tickets means its too expensive to just not turn up.

Lol, that's like saying "well l know this Fortnum and Mason pork pie is mouldy inside but l have to eat it cos it cost so much".

At most clubs by now the discontent & anger towards Aiyawatt’s treatment of our football club would be pretty hostile to say the least but we all know that come tomorrow night his name won’t be mentioned once.

Do you think the lads currently deserve our support? I certainly can't support a blatant lack of effort, pride, passion and fight. We've had bad players, we've had bad seasons, we've had bad results but never in my time supporting this club have the players shown a blatant lack of effort. Especially when you consider the obscene amount of money most of them are being paid. I don't include them all but a fair chunk of them are rotten. The anger from the fans should not just be aimed at the owner and Rudkin, the players deserve full on pelters as well. As badly as the club is being run, that does not excuse the players tossing it off. Sheff Wednesdays players weren't even getting paid but their players continued to give 100%, not for Chansiri but for the club and for the fans. An idea that is seemingly lost on our overpaid tossers.

Why not just turn up, pay the respects to the remembrance, then leave.

All meet up outside west stand and make our voices heard with appropriate chants? Surely we could get a at least a few hundred and you would probably hear it inside too.

I've seen about 10 different suggestions for protests and that in a nutshell is the problem. Leave after kick-off? A lot of people won't want to travel just to do that. Sit-in after the match? If we've won there will be no appetite and if we've lost most people will be gone by full time. Disrupt the match? So few people will do it that bans would be likely. Make our voices heard during the match? Ha, good one.

Apathy is far stronger than anger at the moment. Even the clappers aren't turning up with the regularity that they used to. I think any protest has to lean into that. Pick a match with a terrible kick-off time (not hard) and then encourage people to boycott either the entire match or just for the first 10 minutes. The lazy and the apathetic will find that the easiest thing to do.

If I'm honest, I'd rather stand in the concourse for the first 5 mins and then support the lads rather than full on boycott. The turning up and arriving late will still create a good impact if done by enough.

Probably needs to be 15-20 mins to be noticeable - our garbage turnstiles and digital tickets mean the ground is usually half-empty at kickoff anyway.
