Souttar is a really weird one. When he played alongside Faes in the relegation season he never looked useless like Faes and Vestegaard do at times. Not a world beater but a competent defender. Perhaps lacking in pace. 
 

How he hasn’t played for us in the last two years despite some of the shit we’ve had back there is baffling. Enzo never fancied him. Cooper followed suit. RVN had no choice and Cifeuntes hasn’t really had the opportunity.

I still stand by that, if he's not picked up in this window, him and Nelson will be our established CB pairing by the end of the season.

 

It's a complete mystery whether he can come back from his long injury and maintain fitness and the levels required, but we picked up a similar mould of player in Wasilewski off the back of a broken leg and he was fine.

 

Does feel like the final throw of the dice for our defensive woes though - and it's becoming more and more obvious that it's the fullbacks that are the main issue so it wouldn't be a magic fix even if he is better than Vesty / Okoli.

 

If we have any brains and he's ready, he should play at least 60 mins in the cup against Cheltenham to see if he's up to scratch.

Him, Okoli and Nelson as a back 3, get Coulibaly back to play right wing back until the summer and sign a left wing back. 

 

Just for the sake of something different that’s a bit more physical than Ricardo and Thomas at full back.

He said that Harry Souttar had undergone a minor surgery on a fresh injury and so he is in a recovery process again.

 

“He picked up a small injury that has needed a very small surgery,” Cifuentes said on the centre-back.

 

“He’s going to be back on the grass in a couple of weeks. It’s hopefully not a big one. For sure, the reality is that his last game was a year ago so obviously it will take some time until he will feel 100 per cent ready.”

Not convinced he will make the impact some people suggest anyway, but the lad's rice crackers.  Even if he comes in and does well would we have any confidence he'd be available for any sustained amount of time?  Or would he just turn soggy when it rains?

Done both his ACL and achilles in about 4 years

So its fashionable to diss lots and lots of players. I agree, Daka is sh1te, Praet was useless, Faes a curly haired *****, Perez was over priced,  Soumare a lazy pri5k, Victor useless, Ayew crap etc etc. But at least they actually played for us.

 

This lanky piece of Australian(Scottish) jizz cost us £15 million. £15 f4cking million to do nothing. Didn't play at all the season we got promoted. Has remained a fan favourite in all that time, because you are when you dont play.

 

Stoke must love every penny of that £15 million. They even had add-ons that i bet kicked in when we were promoted.

 

Sorry to those that love him. This is our WORST signing in the last few years. Utter crap. 

 

His best moment was his own goal against Villa.

Most players have a major injury during their career. I look forward to seeing him play. Think he has attributes that would help us. I remember him playing for Oz. Strong in the air and a good passer of the ball. Just what we need.

As an actually defender, he is the best on our books (along with Nelson). Problem being he’s a crock.

 

We massively overpaid and that along with the injuries and the fact that we just like defending here anymore makes it a bad signing.

He joined in Feb 2023 and from what i can see there are less than 15 appearances for us. He quickly fell out of favour during the relegation season. Smith preferred Faes and Cags to him. Even Brendan started playing Amartey again over him. Never featured during the Enzo season. So in nearly 2 years he's nearly cost in xfer fee along 1 million per match.
