'Old guard'.

Some people just love being part of a committee. Taking minutes. Banging hammers. Reading out absent notices and quoting clause 3, paragraph 4 of the constitution.

Well meaning in their own way. But it's a hobby. That sort need pushing out for those more interested in doing and less interested in procedure.

Pop the link up to join and I'll back this.

To be fair though, some of those things (thinking the general rules/constitutions) are actually very important for groups like this. It's just when they become obstructive or are twisted to obstruct well meaning change as I suspect is the case here

Checked and I am signed up until April. Got a few others to sign up though, so hopefully this helps turn it around. When do we find out the list of seats up for election?

We expect it to be in the next few weeks as an election period has to commence prior to the AGM in early 2026. The reason we're encouraging new people to join before any election period starts is because new members joining after the election period starts are not allowed to vote. If people get signed up now, they can actually have their say in the election.

Ian Bason is one of the board members coming to the end of his term and would need to be re-elected to continue (should he wish to - but we believe FAB reps serve a term of 3 years so he will likely want to continue that and would need to be re-elected to do so). Once we know who the others are, we will also share their names.

Think it's interesting that if you buy a new membership it requires approval. I wonder how many people they'll reject?

We expect this is to do with the Trust's new membership system rather than any malicious means but anyone who doesn't receive confirmation of their membership should email [email protected] and we'll channel to the Reform members on the Trust board and ask them to have this checked.

Trust reform?  Never.

The trust has clearly changed in the last year or so but yes with your attitude it will indeed be more difficult.

If every cynic like yourself put the cost of a pint into membership instead and continued to feed into what they are doing, then it will have more weight.

Getting rid of Top and Rudkin is not going to be a quick fix and no-one is suggesting otherwise. Renewing my membership alone will not make a difference, but the whole point is thatthe trust should represent the fan base more widely.

We need as many people as possible singing from the same hymn sheet and showing our disproval of what is happening.

  • Does it continue to support the Fan Engagement Framework or walk away?
  • Does it change its stance on not being a protest group? When? Under what conditions?
  • Is it best to still be "in the room" with the club even if its not achieving what it might like?
  • What will it do with the significant funds it has sat in the bank?

These are huge and would transform the Trust into something actually effective. There's been so much good work over the past 12 months but with legacy board members holding the overriding vote, it limits them making a real difference.

I like Ian on a personal level but it really is time he steps aside instead as its evident he doesn't want real change. But he should do so with his head held high as he's the reason there's still a trust to reform
