And people wonder why we've gone from one of the best teams in England to a mid Championship team within a few seasons. Old, suffered a terrible injury and not match fit, what could go wrong.

Ayew Reid and now Antonio what a bleak trio of forwards. Will show there is still no strategy and just throwing stupid money at players who are finished

Reid? Been arguably one of our best players this season. People seem to be forgetting where we are at as club. Could do far worse

Unless his agent is a total idiot he will know that he isn’t getting a contract with a PL team so we are realistically about as high as he could aim.

He should also understand that he isn’t going to get anything beyond the end of this season because any sensible club will want to check on his fitness … ah, I see the problem.

Email leaked from Rudkin....

Hi agent of Michail,

Can Michail kick a ball? If so, here's a 2yr contract on £75k a week attached to this email. If it isn't, which happens every time, then speak to Mr sexy pants Top.

Come and train with us. We are on a good run of 1 win and draw. We're unstoppable at the moment.

Looking forward to you signing this contact attached to the email. It's in NotePad.

Regards

Jon Rudkin

Femurs heal well, not like knees etc.

Our only financially realistic option for a striker this window is either a loan, someone untested (like Carranza) or someone experienced but not getting games.

I think Antonio is worth a go on a pay as you play deal.

pay as you score deal only

If this was under NPs stewardship I think it’d feel calculated, but there’s no way under this regime he’d be on a sensible enough contract to justify it, add to the fact that he’s a pundit for TNT there’s just too many red flags, absolutely steer clear

At 35, or however old he is, he's much better than what we have.

Do you think we could get better in January on loan? Maybe, but I wouldn't be sure who.

This tells you we won’t spend a penny in Jan. More likely to end it weaker than we start IMO.

We shouldn’t sign him because he’s a pundit for TNT? 😂 of all the reasons you could pick.

Don't mind BCDR at all, on a free absolutely a Pearson type signing

To me it’s putting focus on his career after football, he signed up as a pundit after being let go by West Ham in the summer,  why would he do that if he thought he still had something to offer and clubs would be looking at him

Tbf think BDCR gets unfair criticism.  Apparently a good attitude and I think always gives his best; just not an up and coming player with potential

Didn’t like us signing him for the Prem, but he’s been a revelation in recent games.

3 years younger than the bloke that led the line for us last season.

He's no JV but a damn sight better than what we have.

His legs are probably in better condition than Ricky P's

We've no money to sign a striker so why not

It’s not like we al have to buy him, he’s a cost in wages but if he stays fit it would be a great bit of business.

We can’t spend a penny in January’s Gerimn’in

We are crying out for players than can bully the other team as well.

people on her rate Daka’s work rate when he scores 1 in 50 but turn their nose up at a genuine goalscorer when fit.

If he's on a short term contract until the end of the season, i wouldn't mind it. I'd imagine from his perspective he's desperate to finish off his career on a high note. You don't go from national league to winning a European trophy without some ability and the right mentality. I still think he'd be a handful for most teams in this league. Like others have said, anything is an upgrade on our current options

Genuine goalscorer? He’s had 1 season in his career where he got over 10 goals

What we NEED is someone who can score goals. Finish off sitters is the basic ask beyond that it’s a plus. Antonio is an experienced proven striker who’s proved it in premier league. Now his fitness is suspect plus his age however if he has improved fitness wise and can stay healthy why not take a punt? I agree with others that the deal should be risk mitigated ie loan only. I’m sure Antonio is looking at other championship clubs that might take him. His strategy is to go up with a winning club than try to get another move to a more established premier league team. Doubt he wants to stay in the championship.
