I paid last time begrudgingly, but I won't this time.

My issue is Cov were very clear up front about this - they were charging both us and Birmingham £45 an adult. We knew this, and didn't reciprocate? Why not?

Cus the club, the ticket office manager and the little boys and girls who follow him arent interested, thankfully the amateur has gone to work for Arsenal

I will moan and will NOT pay that much, madness yet we will sell out

That's the reason they've done it. Maximise profit.

The issue is what will that amount of profit even do for a football club in comparison to how out of pocket it makes the average football fan? It's absolutely disgusting when you weigh it up like that.

Definitely not going. Awful experience last time with their deranged fans roaming around in groups looking for trouble thinking they were back in the 1970's. Route march from the car park then 1 hour to get off it after the game.

One of the worse away days in years & they have the nerve to charge hose prices. It's the tele for me

£80 for a parent to take their 6 year old to a Championship game that's on TV.

And absolutely why I am not going. Scandalous. And even then, it’s not just £80. Amongst other expenses.

Think this is an underrated element as well. It might be close and a rivalry whatever but it's built in such a crap location to actually have a good awayday experience.

I'd rather travel down 100 miles to London and enjoy an away there than the 20 miles or so to Coventry.

I'm sure there's plenty in this thread still to come to justify these prices and why they're going to pay it.

Think the issue here will be that, as much as the prices are extortionate, there will be takers for the tickets in place of those boycotting as most would never get the chance to watch us at Cov due to supply/demand.

Not that I’m saying it’s right, but people will pay £45 if it likely to be one of limited chances, if not their only chance, of watching us play there.

I wonder what the actual cut off price point would be that would stop us selling out. Would we sell out at £55? £70?

I am guessing that they have pitched it ast £45 to give them maximum income,  feeling that any higher they wouldn't very many.  £45 is also the minimum prize for their own fans for this game.

Its all about maximising profit.  They do not for one second care about the fans or if there are empty seats.

Lets say they priced it at 30 quid.  3000 fans would generate roughly 90k (assuming mainly adults).  At 45 quid only 2000 would generate the same figure and they probably assumed its a safe bet they will sell 2000, as there will always be those that will buy whatever the cost.  So anything over and above 2000 fans will be additional income than if they had priced it reasonably and sold out.  The ONLY answer is for nobody to go, but that will never happen.

Good question.

There are limits that eventually people do say "no thanks".

Many years ago there was an FA Cup tie.   I think it was Aldershot home to a "big" club.  Can't remember who exactly.

Anyway the club wanted to try and make a few £.  In farness, they did need the money.

But they charged a ridiculously high price, and instead of probably getting 7000, they got about 2000 there.

I’m guessing it’s what people can afford, being Coventry our biggest rival of the season it will be higher then £45, I will try and get a ticket tbf, no it’s not right but it was about the same price I was paying in the east stand last season to watch Ipswich at home

I presume if anyone queried the price with LCFC they would say ‘Nothing to do with us.’ Quite rightly you might say.
However, Swansea are paying these prices for their game against Cov. Their owners are providing free travel for a much longer journey, presumably because of cost of tickets, although admittedly it’s on Boxing Day when travel by train is more difficult.

I appreciate that some of our fans don’t travel from Leicester, but for a lot of our fans this would then make this away game cheaper than most.
Fan engagement, if it’s not just lip service and politics, really is not that difficult. Surely an easy win for LCFC highlighting the greed of Cov more.
Is no one at the club thinking of this?

Yes the cub could easily susbsidise the cost of the tickets as a gesture of good will - but those sorts of gestures just don’t happen !!

They could Price them at £70 a ticket and they would still sell out.

Its a shame, because they're extorting fans but there will always be enough mugs to fuel it.

Lets not forget this is a club getting 12,000 fans in for home games not long ago at this ground. I know they have had their issues but to suddenly start pricing their two local rivalries like this is so tone deaf.

They could quite easily be back to being a bottom half championship club in 3 or 4 years and they wouldn't even think about that kind of price then.

This is when you really see what clubs think of fans. Forget the empty gestures now and again.

Yes the away end is smaller now.

How are the scum bastards getting away with giving an allocation so low the ground holds over 30k we gave them 3200???
