I agree it’s worrying. Very worrying the dishonesty the club will show in communication of such false figures…

I can’t be arsed to check but I think clubs are duty bound (well they certainly are in the PL ) to report the actual figures to the league / police.

Anyone fancy a FOI request to the EFL ?

There was a number of factors why are attendance was so low the boycott being the main reason, but in normal circumstances I imagine we will always get above 22k pre 2012 that’s about our level of fan base considering the shit that’s  on display, being in the prem or top of the championship obviously brings more in, but I don’t blame anyone not going at the minute

Attendance is crap because the team are shite. People can say all they want about Rudkin/ownership etc but if the team were winning then more people would be going. I mean 5000 managed to get out of work commitments to go Preston mid week no problem the other year. Majority of them would make excuses not to do mid week away games now when we are pony though.

Spoke to a chap who works at King Power. He said that although 27,000 tickets were sold (vast majority season tickets), the actual attendance on Monday was actually around 12,000. Worrying.

More of the same please !

I don't wish to be argumentative.  But ffs, just look at the pictures.   It was nowhere near half full.  Not even close.

i would've guessed 14,000 but 12,500 sounds plausible.

People arguing over attendance, what a time to be alive......

Yeah but what was really the reason for the low crowd. The boycott or Corriedale? Nobody will ever know. One of life’s mysteries…

I was at the game. I looked around every block and all of them appeared to be just under half full. interestingly, there weren't some blocks more or less full than others, all were about the same, meaning the reason(s) for not coming were spread evenly through the various demographics, and surprisingly the family end was just as 'full' as the other end.

Stadium was definitely under half full though. 14,000 was my guess, although 12,500 isn't unrealistic.

Some people say it wasn't the boycott that was the primary factor, but almost 30,000 people were there for game game against Derby the previous Monday and all the reasons for not going, apart from the boycott, were there for that game too. Absolutely the boycott was the primary factor.

Anyone with working eyes could see the attendance wasn’t 27,000. Sold tickets? Yes. Attendance? - no. But of course, we have to get the subterfuge in for the smooth of brain :frusty:

Propaganda is the correct term

Whatever the club give out as an official figure, there must be an ACTUAL figure that would be used in the event of an emergency? Whether it's 12k or 27k if it had to be evacuated for a bomb scare or a fire (God forbid obvs) they couldn't be trying to account for the whereabouts of a spoof 15k people who were never there?

We should have grown the fanbase properly in that time but we failed to expand the ground and entice people in when we were successful so why would they bother now?

No increase in capacity, no general sale has locked in the same people.

Was told 12.5k as well, but I'm assuming it's home fans only. Add in the 2k WBA and 14.5k/15k sounds about right?

Total attendance including 1500 away.

It looked more than 12,000 but I didn't think even they would have the brass neck to claim that was 27k. But no, they really do live in that level of bubble.

West Ham claimed 62,000 for the Forest game when the empty seats were pretty prolific. All clubs seem to do the same.

This is what baffles me. I understand sth's have paid so they aren't going to do a long term boycott but I can't understand anyone buying general sale tickets. I stopped buying them when the club started fcking around saying you couldn't buy tickets if you didnt have a membership. I've got 20 years of booking history, why the frig do i need a membership. As soon as they realised attendances were dropping, I started getting emails saying I could buy tickets again on general sale.  Nah you're alright thanks, I'll wait until the club is competently run thanks.

You hit the nail on the head here. If you really need to look at how the club view the fans then look at prices and the membership structure when we got relegated first time around. Knew that we'd still get 30,000 every week so could not give a single **** about policies to introduce new fans or even just show us they value support.

I wouldn't mind as much normally. That's football. They're a business. Why should they care? It's the way they tried to sell themselves as owners who care that is the issue.

Not especially considering the freezing temperatures, treacherous road conditions and a Monday televised match on a work/school night just after new year
