We were a much better run club then and not falling apart financially. It made it easier to handle. And Pearson and co of course. No chance are we in a promotion picture even in L1 next season.

Ricardo was not part of the title winning team.

Fatawu, James and Lascelles will not be staying, well maybe Lascelles if we stayed up but none of them in L1.

Otherwise spot on

Ahem, I meant our FA Cup title win – alongside Thomas and Choudhury.

I concur, staying in the Championship is essential in terms of pulling power. That's why I'd like to see us build a team around a particular spine of players. :fc:

In 2016 everyone claimed they wanted us to win it but deep down fans of basically every team would have been hugely hugely jealous of us. It's just a hangover from that.

And usual Leeds fans solely blaming us for their relegation and not going straight back up

He started in the FA Cup final and didn't put a foot wrong at 19 years old. I don't disagree with you at all, he has been terrible, but how has our coaching been over the last few years for a player with that much talent to go backwards so much?

I stated this in another thread, he's essentially being asked to do two jobs at once – because Mavididi has been so ineffective/selfish in front of him.

League stats

Mavididi: 2 goals, 1 assist – these are Daka-style stats, terrible when you know he can do much, much better. He should be in Fatawu territory.

Thomas: 4 assists

I’m seeing fans of the most random clubs loving our demise lol

I still don’t think some are totally aware how bad things would be if we were relegated.

It’s shit or bust in my opinion, for the future of this clubs existence we can’t get relegated, if we do, we’re done. Top clearly isn’t considering it, we will be going down with the biggest wage bill league 1 has ever seen, even with all of the free agents leaving. The sheer amount of outgoings at the club would likely mean we breach league 1’s FFP rules, plus I’m hearing murmurings the EFL think we’ve breached again. So, hence why they’re now more concerned about us.

Make no mistake, if we go down, we are finished. I genuinely don’t think we will have enough players to put a team out and will eventually end up folding.

Things are that bad at the club, we’re hanging off the edge of the edge of cliff, and unless we are sold, it’s over.

I completely agree. I've been telling anyone who'll listen, if we go down, it'll be catastrophic for the club. I agree in that I don't think we can or recover from that. Other clubs going down to League 1 don't have the size of loan debt that we do.

It is this bad. I was accused of moaning about KPFC supporters clapping consistently dire performances. The problem, as I see it, is their behaviour is enabling King Power to get away with this because they can claim the supporters are still with them. I understand on some level they think they’re just supporting the players but I now make a direct plea to them to do their own research and see how truly horrific our clubs situation is. We must get Aiyawatt and King Power out of our club and mass protest must be the starting point.

Haha, I figured you did. Pedantic of my yes.

But yeah, it’s a much different story if we go down. Although in some cases, Nelson, Monga, James for example, I think they are gone regardless of relegation or scraping survival.

Can’t see this lot staying up, we go down weaker than we did in 2008, Fryatt, Howard, Oakley, King, Berner for example.

If you consider some of these current players to be both weak mentally and physically, wait till they get roughed up in League One.

The young players are crying out for leadership, nothing on or off the pitch now, the club is a joke.

Berner wasn't in the squad that got relegated. Pearson signed him on a free in the summer.

But I certainly share your pessimism if we do go down. Which is why it's crucial that we stay up. It wouldn't be easy regrouping in the Championship in the summer, but a damn sight easier than trying to do so in L1. The financial complications would make that a much harder task than in 08-09, even assuming we did stay afloat financially. That, in turn, makes it crucial that we make the right managerial appointment - and make it soon.

Even with money, it's not easy to quickly turn round a team/squad relegated to L1. To do so with our financial complications & PSR rules would be almost impossible.

The job NP did in his first stint can be overlooked in light of his second stint. Only about 3 of the L1 title team had been regulars the previous season (King was only just breaking through in 07-08 & became a regular in 08-09). That nearly-new L1 squad went on to make the Championship play-offs in 09-10, with relatively few major additions (Wellens, Gallagher, Weale...?).

Absolutely. The interview with Top where he said that the relegation from the Premier League was a total shock has set off all sorts of alarm bells. Clearly he has not even considered us going to League One. With King Power being run differently now the chances of them funding the losses we would inevitably make as a League One club are slim to none. We are running out of future revenue to borrow from Macquarie against and once the club becomes worth less than the money we owe we could end up in all sorts of trouble. We could always find a buyer in the Championship for an amount that would probably cover what is owed who is willing to invest enough to get us back to the Premier League but as a League One club we could be heading for liquidation.

It's starting to look very likely that unless we are sold or unless Top/KP appoint someone competent as a Chief Executive to run the club and put more money in that we are heading towards administration or worse liquidation with our eyes shut.

Realistically a draw a game will be enough 💡to keep us up

We don't have to go out and try to force a win in every game, ultimately to lose, cos we are shit at the back

Id take Mike Ashley in a heartbeat over this lot, at least he know how to run a business sustainably and how to restructure a struggling business to be profitable. These clowns have no clue how to run a business

We need to try and win since we have proven we can defend for shit. It’s not like we can go out and shithouse a load of 0-0s

I don't know where my relegation thread went but when does everyone think we'll be relegated, if not on the final day of the season?

We’ve just got to except our are probably the worst team in the league. No fight, no one cares except the young players. The worst management ever. No manager.

Decent manager we're stay up comfortably, problem is every week we don't appointment that gets harder.

We have already wasted 3 winnable league games.

Mike Ashley would run this football club much better than the current owners would, weird that you think that it's a negative. We wouldn't have a points deduction or a threat of one every season if we had Ashley running the show.
