You mean that same top of the league side that we should have beaten at home and should also have been 3-0 up at half-time away a few weeks ago? With better finishing we'd have done the double over Coventry.

And yes, we were generally dog shit under Cifuentes. But he has gone and there was a clear improvement last week—we'd have won that game without Okolo's brain fart and would probably have at least drawn if Ayew hadn't chosen the occasion to miss the first penalty of his career (having previously scored all 17 he'd attempted). Plus, we have signed four new players, at least two of whom I think will start today, with the others probably featuring from the bench.

I understand, based on our peformances this season, why there is pessimism about today. I'm just puzzled by this incredibly stubborn refusal among some people to even admit the possibility that Marti's departure and the arrival of fresh blood might result in a better outcome on the pitch.

That's a lot of ifs and what ifs. We have simply been turd.

I hope the new lads will have given us a lift this week though, especially with the point deduction confirmed and the need to be up for it even more.

We'll know a lot more by the end of this game.

Lets just back the lads. Even if it's the usual dross, at least we can say that as fans we weren't complicit in our downfall. Season starts today.

Love the inspirational speech but sorry, I refuse to back any more of the dross served up this season.

If the new players start, i'll give them a chance.

If the usual suspects start (which I fully expect) and the new players are on the bench, King and the rest of them can get fvcked.

Cant bare another second of Jordan Ayew in attack and our cluster fvck of a defence.

A win today would be big. A chance to move on.

Will be interesting to see which out of the new signings start.

Feel like its a big one today to know what type of second half of the season we are in for!

So you’ll pat yourself on the back when we’re successful and say you played your part as member of the loud travelling blue army?.

Remember, through the good times and now.

Pains me slightly to add some of these in but feel like we need to try and win the midfield and sit back a bit and counter attack.

Stolarcyrk

Ricardo (or even Aluko)

Lascelles

Nelson

Kristiansen

Skipp

Winks

Aribo

Fatawu

Daka

Mavididi

Fortune favours the brave Kingy. Please don’t persist with players who have consistently failed us this season.

Assuming the new players are fit (a big if) I’d like to see something like:

                      Jakub

Ricardo Nelson Lascelles Aluko

           Skipp Aribo Page

Mavididi    Mukasa   Fatawu

Think that refusal might be to do with what we witnessed last week, basically same line up, same formation, same tactics including this inverted right back cobblers that gets us into trouble constantly.King had been watching our car crash all season and just went exactly the same again.

I will always back the lads until I start seeing the apathetic, effortless, don't care attitude then count me out. If this shitty week doesn't spark a reaction today then we've had it (obvs not the players, makes no difference to them).

We see what King is made of today. He’s had 2 weeks and he’s 4 new players.

Yes, he is going to play one of the donkeys, but I want to see a change somewhere. Coming out and playing Ayew based Marti ball will be a disgrace.

No, i'll pat myself on the back knowing I wasn't complicit in the worst running the club has ever seen, taking us from Premier League winners to Championship relegation scrap in 10 years.

A squad filled with some of the most despicable players the clubs ever seen.

No clean sheet in 20+ games, no effort from the players, sheer incompetence thats deemed acceptable week in week out.

I'll pat myself on the back knowing I wasnt complicit to that.

But you do you.

This has to be it. I cannot have my eyes burning again seeing Ayew and Thomas playing.

Surely we’ve got to give ourselves the best chance and not play liabilities like Luke Thomas and Jordan Ayew. Chuck the new lads in and let’s see where we’re at.

Anyone expecting a change of formation and the inclusion of new players (plural) is absolutely deluded.

Not a chance

Might get Lacelles if we are lucky, until he pulls up injured after 10 minutes.

All of the new players should start. We are diabolical in every area so if any of them can't walk into the line up, might as well send them back.

I'd love to see Aluko start and Luke Thomas never start for us again but I don't think we should be shoehorning an 18 year old into the team in a position that he's not familiar with in what will be a very tough away game. It's why we needed to bring in a new LB in the transfer window.

I really hope Begovic comes in.

We don't have the luxury or time to be playing a less experienced and flapping keeper in challenging circumstances with a shaky defence.
