I mean that's if he passes his medical... He could fail it on purpose to stay at Newcastle if he so wanted.

Tuna Posted 1 February Posted 1 February Newcastle fans love him. Captained them to promotion under Benitez.

AjcW Posted 1 February Posted 1 February Leader. Make him captain straight away. I’m starting to think we didn’t reveal Soumare total because we actually got a decent amount for him. Remains to be seen what happens tomorrow but this won’t be a cheap signing wages wise.
EnderbyFox Posted 1 February Posted 1 February Good leadership option I guess but I said the same about Coady… if it’s a permanent deal I dread to think what wages/years we’ve offered to beat 6 other championship clubs
Popular Post Enyoueffsea Posted 1 February Popular Post Posted 1 February He’s a great leader on and off the pitch. He won’t put up with others shirking responsibility or performances. He was fantastic for us when we needed him but we’ve somewhat outgrown him. His lack of playing time is because he’s currently 5th choice CB. He has had some injuries also. A really good signing for you. I’d have thought he could have done a job for a bottom half PL team so he’s a great catch in the Championship. 9 3
Chief Keef Posted 1 February Posted 1 February If he was fit it would be a no brainer. Unfortunately I can see a scenario where we see him play less than 5 games and even if he does his legs are probably completely gone. Ricardo was one of the top 3 right backs in premier league at one point, but look at him now. Can imagine a similar effect here. 1
AjcW Posted 1 February Posted 1 February Perfect for him really. Gets to move home and preserve a decent amount of his wages
BrilliantFox Posted 1 February Posted 1 February (edited) Will be taking Soumares wage for sure. Edited 1 February by BrilliantFox

DAS Boot Posted 1 February Posted 1 February I like this. I’ve not felt genuinely optimistic about a signing for a long time. 1

scinnell Posted 1 February Posted 1 February Leader. Upgrade on Vesterguard, Okoli and Faes when he returns too. 1

Tuna Posted 1 February Posted 1 February From the Newcastle forum: The time has probably come that he’s no longer at the level required. But it shouldn’t be forgotten that it was only two seasons ago he played in 5 of our 6 CL matches and didn’t look out of place. He’s been an excellent player.
