I think we can all be certain he’s not going to play for us again. He hates it here and he hates the club and fans.  He’d rather play in the Belgium league than with us.

Hi, my names Harry Winks, nice to meet you.

This guy is honestly hardly going to play, so are we signing him for his influence on the dressing room, or to coach our centre Half's how to defence. Totally baffling to me.

He's a lot better than the other defenders we currently employ.

Plus Andy King's comments regarding Vestergaard sounded to me like he's not wanting to hang around.

Is on £40k per week now, so can’t imagine his wage demands would be extortionate. Although imagine we have offered a 2.5 year deal to beat out other clubs to his signature.

Absolutely seems the sort of character we need, which is the biggest plus to give the squad some fresh impetus for the rest of the season to fight relegation. Everything is so stale at the minute.

I did wonder whether Janick might be a late surprise exit today after his weekend exodus.

His recent injury record says he is not going to play very many minutes on the pitch for Leicester (which was the point of him signing right ?) there is noway he is coming to Leicester match fit. Take him a few weeks to get up to speed, or risk another. It's a signing yes, massive injury, it's all a month to late, but it's classic Leicester city being reactive and not proactive Ahhh...Top, bless him..

‘injured’ can be what people say when they want to get a move before the deadline

Conor Coady 2.0

Different type of player, could absolutely be a crock but he is big, looks to have been quick and suits a back 4, Coady was a back 3 merchant who was good on the ball and vocal. Think even if Lascelles is off the pace at worst he will be able to win headers and knock about the lumps in this league that have been terrorising us I.e Dykes, Kieffer Moore etc

If fit he’s a cracking signing; experienced, powerful, leadership, determined. Basically everything we’ve been lacking in defence. However the past few years suggest this is an absolutely massive if. Just hope whatever contract we offer reflects this.

We've had examples of players having niggling injuries after coming back from ACL's in recent years (Ricardo, Justin, Ramsey) - Just hoping Lascelles can avoid that because he's actually exactly what we need. He can either be a Huth style signing or a Ramsey style signing.

I see the logic but the worry is that he's going to be injured continually and we'll have offered a 2 or 3 year contract on pretty big wages to secure the deal. At this time more than ever we simply can't afford to tie up significant funds on a player who will rarely play.

My hot take on this transfer is that I think Lascelles will bring much-needed experience to our struggling defence, and in that sense he sounds just what we need on paper. However, I've heard from contacts at Newcastle that he's a bit injury prone, so that may be a concern.

You're all very welcome.

Well, Coady looked decent for Charlton on Saturday but that’s because of us…

I think this is a decent signing if it happens and he can stay fit… and it’s the right price. Him and Nelson would be a good pairing

From Newcastle forum:

"If we give Leicester a game away in pre-season, you'd think we'd send a big following so that'd be a bit of a gesture."

They talk about him like how we talk about Albrighton lol
