HankMarvin Posted 2 February Posted 2 February Will be able to play snap (pun not intended) with Ricardo when discussing cruciate ligament injuries

I think we can all be certain he’s not going to play for us again. He hates it here and he hates the club and fans. He’d rather play in the Belgium league than with us.
Finnegan Posted 2 February Posted 2 February Just now, Tommy G said: Correct but the current ownership don't have a clue on spending - they've got it wrong the past few seasons and are probably working outside the parameters again and it's tomorrows problem. I'm not sure anyone really knows tbh I think if we were looking to work outside our budget and splurge again in a panic, we wouldn't be bringing in a 12 year old loanee, 500 year old sicknote Jamaal Lascelles and Joe ****ing Aribo. This is the deadline day of a club desperately trying to not spend anything. 2

MPH Posted 2 February Posted 2 February We apparently offered 35million for Jamaal Lascelles in 2018 as a Maguire replacement..

Soumare to Sevilla was the same, weak option to buy that we all know will never materialise. Edited 2 February by BrilliantFox

We need a striker, what on earth does our scouting network and recruitment team actually do. Glover and Co Rudkin should hang their heads in shame. But we also need leaders, that’s why there’s mostly positivity on this signing. January is always a difficult window, finding someone with leadership qualities is difficult, looking at potential options from the Premier League, realistically your left with either Jamaal Lascelles, Luke O’Nien and Ethan Pinnock(Has Premier League interest). I don’t think we can afford to wait until the summer to add 1-2 leaders. Just ask yourself this, do you really want to persist with Ricardo, Vestergaard, Choudhury, BDCR, Ayew and maybe Winks as our experienced leadership group? I think every single Leicester fan would swap them out if we could. Lascelles brings attributes that none of them really possess.
Popular Post Bert Posted 2 February Popular Post Posted 2 February The annoying thing about this one for me is that it could’ve been done well before now. 13
Patrick Posted 2 February Posted 2 February So he's played hardly any football for the past few seasons, is very injury prone, isn't even match fit now and is in the twilight years of his career. You just know he'll be signing on silly wages on a 3 year deal. Shocking how bad things have got for people on here to actually be deluding themselves into thinking this is a good signing. 3

Not really. People are just separating the player from the deal. Even those who like the player and have commented on the positives (experience, captain and leader, proper defender etc) have balanced this with the concerns about fitness and of course, our clubs ability to negotiate a deal. I think there’s a lot of positives but I do worry that dumb and dumber will still be seen coming a mile off when it comes to wages. Perhaps just naive hope says that we will quite literally not be able to do that and that the deal might be more favourable. But given we don’t have details, it is all speculative. 1
The Horse's Mouth Posted 2 February Posted 2 February I like Jamjar a lot, miles better than what we’ve got. My only concern is we’ll give him a 3 year deal 80 bags a week and the most apps he’ll make a year is 15 1

SafewayFox Posted 2 February Posted 2 February I hate to be so negative but a dreadful signing. We will be paying him over the odds, his injury record since 2023 is the pits. We are such a lazy club, in every single metric. 2
jv1 Posted 2 February Posted 2 February If he comes in and plays 15 games this season we will definitely be better defensively and that will probably be enough to keep us up as this league is utter poo
MonarchFox Posted 2 February Posted 2 February I've always liked him. If his knee holds up and he's on 20k a week i'm OK with that. If he's on 40k than that isn't decent business given Ricky P and JJ after their acl issues

PSR Fox Posted 2 February Posted 2 February This is a signing I could get on board with, Despite him being ex Forest. From what I've seen he is certainly a leader & someone that will drive standards up while giving us vital back up in the centre back positions. Looks unlikely we will see Souttar this season & Vestergod managing an injury it will allow us to rotate CB or even go back to Nelson as a LB .

If that's on the cards, that's about the biggest reason not to sign him. Would be absolutely mental if that's the plan. 3
FoxKent_88 Posted 2 February Posted 2 February A fit Lacscelles is 100% the type of player we need. Given the ACL injury and the lack of football over the past 2 years there's a big question mark. Let's see if he passes the medical. Hopefully this transfer will turn out to be more Huth than Coady.
