CloudFox Posted 31 January Posted 31 January (edited) Would actually offer the leadership we sorely need tbh. Could be a great partner for Nelson. That being said, if he's barely played in 2 years, that's...not exactly ideal. ...then again, he's probably run more this season warming up on the touchline than most of our players have on the pitch...so can only be an improvement. Aleksz Posted 31 January Posted 31 January Don’t think he’s anything special but we desperately need leaders and physicality.
coolhandfox Posted 31 January Posted 31 January Makes sense. Feeling Vestergaard could be on his way out.
jbflcfc Posted 31 January Posted 31 January This could be our Robert Huth signing. ****ing hell, I’m actually saying this
Tuna Posted 31 January Posted 31 January Get him in, but there seems to be a lot of competition. From Derby so maybe returning local appeals. 1
Edingleyfox Posted 31 January Posted 31 January Another player I think Leicester were linked to a few years ago and he was decent to be fair. Barely played for 2-3 years. Do Leicester do any scouting or is it a matter of who they remember looked OK a while back.

Probably not one who gets too much game time, but will absolutely drag standards up. He was Newcastle captain long after Howe arrived too
fox_favourite Posted 31 January Posted 31 January So he'll end up somewhere else. But this is a leader we need.
Turtle27 Posted 31 January Posted 31 January If we get him let’s hope he has a January impact like Robert Huth and not Ryan Bennett 🤞 2
Foxes96 Posted 31 January Posted 31 January Unique sports group as well, so hopefully some legs in this one. East Midlands lad as well, but would you rather fight relegation with us, or chase play offs with Derby.

DAS Boot Posted 31 January Posted 31 January This would actually be decent which is why it wont happen.
jonny_wright Posted 31 January Posted 31 January We won’t be able to compete with Birmingham unfortunately, but would be are best CB if he came (it’s a low bar)
Guest Posted 31 January Posted 31 January As far as I can tell he's started three games since 2023, came off injured after 16 minutes in the most recent of those, which was nearly two years ago. Might be that he adds a bit of character to the dressing room but if you're looking for someone to make an immediate impact on the pitch, I don't know how likely he is to do that. It's a bit Michail Antonio isn't it? 3
JimJams Posted 31 January Posted 31 January 2 potential issues. One is that he's not played much football off the back of a bad injury, though lack of game time will be down to options ahead of him rather than fitness (hopefully), and the other is what kind of deal we're talking about. Last thing we want to do it offer an over 30 premier league footballer with dubious fitness levels a contract. But if this is just to take him on loan until the summer then it could be a decent move given we have no leaders at the back (anywhere?) and Lascelles is at least vocal at the back. Oh and on the case of fitness, he's currently nursing a muscle injury and is unavailable for Newcastle.
Flannel_Fox Posted 31 January Posted 31 January Doesn't/Hasn't his brother played for Leicester Riders (Basketball).
Brizzle Fox Posted 31 January Posted 31 January My god we really aren't very good at this transfer window stuff.

Very Wes Morgan esq, would slot in alongside Ben Nelson well and is also a leader… if he can stay fit Exactly this. Has experience, mobile, leader. And he isn't Okoli. Anyone saying no, cannot have seen our defence today (or recently).

HP1 Posted 31 January Posted 31 January We will end up with Jan Bednarek or Claus Lundekvam or Jason Dodd or any other ex Southampton defender we can get our hands on
