Seems like Wareham is actually decent aerially - looks like he is quite similar to Fatawu in that although he is short he has a pretty good leap on him 5 of his 22 goals last season were headers Edited 20 July by moore_94

That's where I think we're going to be vulnerable. If we could get some height and pace in to this side it'll stand us up much better. 7

Would be nice to see us think outside the box, At his age too I think it would be a good step. Like Ballard he is being coveted by Bristol City, but the logisitics of that move (Much like Tolaj) could be a deciding factor I think hed be the sort to get the crowd going as well

They had high hopes for him at Goteborg but moved to Osters and started the new season very well. Would cost less than £1m in that league. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/linus-carlstrand/profil/spieler/1016056 It's funny you should say that. Sorry for the late reply I've only just seen it. I actually went to Gothenberg in late May and watched them play and I was impressed by him, I think, is he like a 10 sort of player? I could well be getting mixed up here but it does look like him, he was their stand out player. I mean the whole thing got a bit distracting when 18,000 people started plotting the refs death on 75 odd minutes. Edit: right he's striker, I'll actually do some research and see if it was him and try and remember the game. Edit: Edit: He doesn't even play for Gothenburg amazing, yeah it was a midfielder, David Kruze I was thinking of but he does look like him. Most pointless post ever btw. The majority of team are going to sit back and try and hit us on the break or catch us at set pieces. We need two dominant CB and a decent size CF, unless we bring in a physically dominant DCM. 2
Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 20 July Popular Post Posted 20 July Just go and sign Danny Ormerod before some League One or Two club get him for £350k and sell him to the Championship for 30 times that a year later. 5

moore_94 Posted 21 July Posted 21 July Mamadou Jobe - 23 year old centre back at Cambridge United who finished 3rd and got promoted from League Two last season Only has 1 year left on his contract 2
Popular Post moore_94 Posted 21 July Popular Post Posted 21 July Been looking through players who are 23 or under and have only 1 year left on their contracts: Centre back: Ethan Pye (23) - Stockport County Mamadou Jobe (23) - Cambridge United Finley Burns (23) - Man City (loan at Reading last season) Centre Mid: Charlie Savage (23) - Reading Charlie Webster (22) - Burton Albion Left Wing: Adrian Blake (21) - FC Utrecht Striker: Emre Tezgel (20) - Stoke City (loan at Crewe last season) Jayden Wareham (23) - Exeter City 7 1
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 21 July Posted 21 July GK - Storlarczyk, Vietes, McCarthy. RB - Aluko, Hamza, Joseph. CB - Souttar, Nelson, Faes, Okoli, Wilson-Brown, Gray. LB - Thomas, New signing, Joseph. Holding Mid - Skipp, Hamza, Braybrooke. Attacking Mid - Chaplin, BDCR, Alves, Braybrooke, Page. RW - New signing, Alves, Carr ST - 2x new signing, Otchere LW - Mavididi, New signing, Alves. Gives you a good perspective of the areas they’ll be looking to recruit and the positions they’ll need to get rid of some players prior signing additional players. Not saying this is what I want but what we currently have / have space for. 1

Not saying this is what I want but what we currently have / have space for. Midfield looks a bit lightweight for the division. Essential that we can move Skipp on and sign a couple of midfielders that add some quality and physicality. Nassim Zoukit would’ve been my first choice but he’s gone to Thun so maybe that was always unlikely. Hoping the Martin connect could tempt Smallbone to drop a division, Giovanni Haag another free agent who ticks the boxes we need.

I the our shopping list will be: CB x 2 ST x 2 RW/LW x 3 CM/CDM X 1 You are missing Woyo at fullback, I think we are unlikely to recruit at fullback unless we move on him or Hamza. 1

I think we will need to start over at CB (senior CBs). I could see all 3 of Faes, Nelson and Okoli going. I really hope we aren’t looking at right full back as Aluko and even Joseph are ready. Left full back, with VK out, I’d be more inclined to bring a younger option in to challenge and replace Thomas. We’ve ended up quite short on the wings as you say with Monga and Fatawu going. Still a lot to be done….

CB: souttar, Nelson, faes and okoli will probs be gone I think W-B might start LCB so at least 2-3 CBs will come in depending how he sees gray ..Finley burns might be one in alongside a senior cb, LB: You missed out Mirsad Ali who’s in with a shout DM: Skipp’ll probs be gone, hence why we’re looking at Greg docherty maybe, also same as Above with Tommy Neale RW: alves is not a rw’er I know Russell tried him out there but you can tell he’s more uncomfortable out on the right wing than in the 10 or the HS ..you forgot Jake Evans & Lorenz maybe, and Id like to see Lorenz tried here & up front actually instead of LW — so it could be Carr/Evans/lorenz ST: i think Otchere’s possibly our main striker with opoku as back up hence why we’re looking at senior “3rd choice” strikers maybe, Hope not but we’ll see LW: Mavididi hopefully is going

kingfox Posted 22 July Posted 22 July Right now as @Bluearmyfox28 alluded to, there’s four holes in this squad that need filling. When it comes to Left-Back, I’d be inclined to dip into the free agent or loan market. Ben Osborn hasn’t been picked up yet, he’d give us that versatility of a left-back who is capable of moving into central areas. In terms of Ioan options, Cathal McCarthy, Finley Munroe and Seb Naylor are the three I’d be inclined to look at. If funds allow, then signing a Fatawu replacement in the region of £1 million is a must imo. If we don’t have that luxury, then I can see us dipping into the loan market. In terms of a backup left-winger, Abdul Abdulmalik would surely come in the £500k-800k type bracket, or we get in someone on loan who has been plying their trade in PL2, there’s numerous options. Then like with RW, if funds allow, we need to sign a striker who is capable of getting 15-20 goals. Then I can see a more experienced striker coming in as backup, no doubt it will be an underwhelming name though. Then I guess it’s just a waiting game on more departures, a revamp in defence is likely needed, I’d still like Archie Collins to replace Skipp if he leaves, and someone to replace Mavididi if he leaves.

In terms of striker, that Danny Ormerod sounds a great shout. But at 20, and jumping from the National League to L1 if he did, you’d not imagine putting those 15/20 goal expectations on him. So the issue is, who else do you get? The ideal would be a Jack Marriott or Keillor-Dunn type who is late 20’s or even early 30’s as an experienced scorer at this level with our own youngsters and an Ormerod to add competition. 1
honeybradger Posted 22 July Posted 22 July (edited) Am I wrong or did Omerod not even play in the National league last season but in the National League north. Struggled at lot in the National league the season before with 1 goal in 33 although was only 19. Seems a bit silly to sign him when he is 3 years older than Evans and less proven.
