Clear that this McCarron bloke is a waste of time. Unsure what hes doing other than posting on foxestalk under a false name.

How is it clear?

I just can’t see us shifting enough to need this many incomings, or being able to afford it.

You’d certainly hope a few more will leave if we can get rid of Jannik and Victor. But so far it looks like we will still be stuck with the likes of Hamza, Skipp, Mavididi & BDCR for another year

Honestly we wouldn’t get promoted with that front line. I know we think highly of our academy lads but we need to be realistic. Right now the likes of Skipp and Mavididi they’re trying to get them out on permanent deals but think they’ll eventually settle for loans.

Here’s how I see it ending up based on players wanting to leave and not suiting RM system.

Sell / Loan:

- Storlarczyk - Sell.

- Nelson - Sell.
- Faes - Sell.

- Okoli - Loan.

- Vesty - Contract termination.

- Coulibaly - Sell.

- Kristensen - Loan.

- Winks - Sell.

- Skipp - Loan.

- Monga - Sell.

- Mavididi - Loan.

- Fatawu - Sell.

Then the squad look like the following:

GK - New goalkeeper, Vieties, Begovic/Bausor.

RB - Hamza, Aluko, Joseph.

CB - Souttar, Wilson-Brown, Grey, 2x signing.

LB - Thomas, Joseph, 1x signing.

CDM - Braybrooke, Hamza, 1x signing.

CM - Page, Braybrooke, 1x signing.
CAM - Bobby Reid, Chaplin, Alves, Page.

RW - Thomas, 2x signing.

LW - Alves, Thomas, 1x signing.

ST - Evans, Otchere, Ings, 1x signing.

Minimum 11 signings with Chaplin and Ings.

1 - GK(If they feel Stolarczyk doesn’t fit Russell’s style)

3 - CB(Presuming Nelson, Okoli, Faes, Souttar and Vestergaard all leave)

1 - LB(Kristiansen replacement)

1 - CDM(If Winks and Skipp both leave)

1 - CM(Jordan James replacement)

1/2 - CAM(Chaplin + one more depending how Russell views BDCR & Alves)

1/2 - WG(Mavididi replacement if he leaves, could also depend on BDCR & Alves)

2 - ST(Ings + a much needed starter)

Personally I think we’ll need between 11-13.

That number will probably include 5 loans and a few free transfers. If we do have any budget, then it should go on a starting CB and ST imo.

Agreed completely. I really hope Tudor Mendel-Idowu on loan or permanent from Ipswich is one of the winger additions!

The wings are the most unpredictable position imo, just because that position has been so varied throughout Martin’s managerial career, a mix of natural wingers and non natural wingers. Intrigued to see how BDCR, Evans and Alves line up in pre season.

I’ve said to Ric though a couple of times this summer, that I wouldn’t be surprised if Emilio Lawrence joins from Man City, especially if Mavididi leaves too.

I actually think the wingers are the one position where RM doesn’t really have a preference. As long as they are effective he kinda gives them the freedom to play to their strengths.

Been told we are looking at Finley Burns worked with RM during his Swansea days.

Interesting. He's had a few loan moves to League 1 teams by the looks of it so knows the league. But no idea on ability.

Wonder if loan again, or he's looking for a permanent move so he can kick start a career somewhere, rather than moving all over the place.

Mentioned him last week along with Kian Noble who is also at Man City, those two are the most realistic imo over Alleyne and Mfuni.

Burns is out of contract next year, so could see him moving somewhere permanently.

Seems he was well thought of by Stevenage fans in his loan spell there. They often used him as a defensive midfielder as well as a defender

At 23 as well he's never making it at Man City. He's comparable in profile to Nelson, if we lose him for a modest fee and get Burns for a bit less then i'd be OK with that.
