Agree on all, plus Faes out… but I think realistically Skipp is staying, and possibly Okoli too. As a result wouldn’t be overly shocked if we only signed a striker. With Page moving into the holding midfield role (I think that’s his best role) and Alves seemingly only being viewed as a winger, I feel we need another attacking midfielder who can actually create as well as another holding midfielder to create competition for Page. Then you have the two obvious ones of a centre back and striker. That’s 4 total. CB - John Souttar or Victor Ericsson (Hammarby) CDM - Oli Norwood, Charlie Savage or Lukas Fadinger (Motherwell) CAM - Kamari Doyle (Loan, might as well get 3 Brighton lads) or Patrick Kelly. ST - Davis Keillor-Dunn or Shim Mhueka (Loan) I would love us to move Alves inside and sign Abdulmalik from Boreham Wood. A front 5 of Abdulmalik, Alves, Braybrooke and Howell behind Bristric would be a problem.
LCFCJohn Posted 30 August Posted 30 August Probably an unpopular opinion but after yesterday, unless we can get a cheap loan or 2, I’d jut save any funds until January. I don’t think new additions will do anything now. The squad yesterday was plenty good enough but the approach is holding us back. Signing a new striker is pointless when we aren’t creating chances for them. Similarly, the areas behind that are creating said chances have our better players and most depth so it’s not like we need more additions there. 1
Edingleyfox Posted 30 August Posted 30 August Every year the club skirts around the striker issue buying utility attacking players like Reid Chaplin Burns etc and maybe gets one unproven centre forward . Well I think we have seen enough in the last 3-4 games to see that that is going to cost the club big time coupled with the ineffective possession stuff. DKD from Wrexham on loan or someone a bit younger but not another premiership loanee that has never scored beyond the youth teams
