Usually appeals win right? Historically?

They add a point and we get 2 knocked off

Yes, there is no case of a points deduction being increased on appeal.

Please focus your anger on the source of the problem.

Aiyawatt and Rudkin knew the rules, tried to play dumb and have had their fingers burnt.

We've flagrantly broken the rules and have gotten of lightly despite consistently making it hard work for everyone. We've not cooperated at any stage and should be made an example of.

They aren't mutually exclusive mate and I knew someone would try to argue this point as soon as clicked 'post'. I hate our owners and want them gone! We rightfully got punished, yes we got off lightly..but its DONE. Move on, its factually bitter from the PL and I won't hear any other opinion on it:thumbdown:

PL going for further one point deduction apparently

Regardless of whether we deserve it or the mismanagement that caused it, I hope we fight it and embarrass them again. It's maddening that us, Everton. Sheffield United and Forest are seen as easy targets whereas Man City can delay and deny until it's just accepted they will get a token fine and a suspended points deduction.

Am I correct in thinking every other club that has appealed points have had them reduced?

No. Everton appealed to have 10 points turned in to 6.

Forest appealed and the appeal was rejected.

They were always going to appeal, every club that has had one for PSR has. And got it reduced.

So as much as I hate what’s happening at the club, this makes some sense. But I just want it over with.

It’s irrelevant how nice a person she is, dress it up how you wish.

The fact is she was complicit in the shit show.

She was complicit, but she was also clearly being frozen out by best-buddies Top and Rudders. So it's possible she didn't have quite as much oversight of this stuff as she could (/should?) have had.

Does it absolve her outright? No, not at all. But there are massive question marks over all involved in running the club at the top level, and we dont know the full extent to how it played out internally. As far as character references go though, she easily comes out the best of the lot so I suspect some of the more positive narrative actually holds true.

......based on what’s publicly happened so far under the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR), there is no clear instance yet of a points deduction being increased on appeal. What has happened to date involves adjustments in the opposite direction:

📉 Reduction on appeal (not increase)

  • Everton F.C. was initially hit with a 10-point deduction for breaching Premier League PSR.
On appeal to an independent Appeal Board, that deduction was reduced to six points.

Other PSR appeal outcomes

  • Nottingham Forest F.C. had a four-point deduction upheld on appeal — the sanction remained the same (i.e., it was not increased).

  • Leicester City F.C. won an appeal against a potential PSR points deduction on jurisdictional grounds, so no deduction was applied at all.

So has a deduction ever been increased on appeal?

Not in the context of Premier League PSR sanctions to date.
The known outcomes involve reducing a points deduction on appeal (Everton) or upholding it (Nottingham Forest), but no example has emerged where an appeal board has increased the original deduction.

👉 It is theoretically possible within the Premier League’s disciplinary framework — the independent Appeal Board has the power to reassess sanctions — but there’s no precedent yet under the PSR regime of an increased points deduction following an appeal.

Can we just have 1 sodding day off without some sort of news story or fking drama?!

Exactly can’t seem to catch a break at the minute. Rowett comes in to rally the lads and then this happens

Don't tell me, Whelan and Rudkin used his old Betasonic Fax Pro 200 from Alpha Discounts again and the accounts arrived 14 seconds late. In Kathmandu.

Maybe the appeal will arrive late too :dunno:

You need to know your facts mate with Sue Whelan and ask yourself why she left and why previous managers and players thought it wrong Rudkin I agree

It's not bitterness at all.

The Premier League have to protect their own rules.

But on the flip side, I have absolutely no problem with the club appealing every single think the EFL / PL try to do if it claws us back any points.

Spot on, the PL acting like major fannies and anyone that just blindly accepts endless punishment from these butthurt people are also fannies.

My god this sort of stuff turns you off the club and football so much.

I agree. That our club is in the mire obviously concerns us and the way we are run has resulted in a very hostile attitude towards the owners. Two wrongs don't make a right but the way football is run by the various authorities leaves a nasty taste in the mouth. Their own rules have been proved not to be worthy of examination. Sometimes the law is an ass and needs throwing out.

Football yes, the club not so much.

The club are obviously at fault for the spending, I don't have a problem with us being punished, as much as I think PSR / FFP are completely ridiculous laws, they're laws we knew and broke.

But on the flip side, I have absolutely no problem with the club appealing every single think the EFL / PL try to do if it claws us back any points.

I don't like King Power, I'm fed up of Top, I agree, I want new owners. But the people that want us to get relegated just to somehow spite them or because they think it'll force them to sell are really ****ing weird. If we stay up, there's half a chance we get to spend some money this summer and go back to actually being able to enjoy matches a bit. If we go down, the snowball continues to roll and we keep struggling financially for god knows how many more years to come. We'll have been relegated from the Prem with a record wage bill and then we'll probably be relegated from the Champ with a record wage bill. That's not a record I want nor is it a millstone round the neck of the club I want, I'm so ****ing sick of this shit.

So as far as I'm concerned, Top can appeal his little heart out. You go Top. The people that think we should just take our medicine and that it's somehow any kind of bad thing that the owners are appealing are... ****ing weird.

That’s the mentality of some of our fans fight and we are wrong
