We acknowledge that an independent Commission’s decision to recommend a six-point deduction on the Club this season has been upheld by an independent Appeal Board.

The decision relates to our profit and sustainability position for the three-year period to June 2024 and is accepted by the Club.

With the matter now at an end and five games of the season remaining, everyone at the Club is fully focused on the matches in front of us and on shaping the outcome of our season through our results on the pitch.

We know this has been a challenging period, and we thank our supporters for the backing they continue to give the team. The responsibility now is to ensure these remaining games are approached with the focus and intent our current situation demands.

The club's insistence on not being in a relegation fight is staggering. Say it like it is Anthony!

That last line is laughable. What were we doing for the past 75+ games?

Dare I say - I feel we are lucky that we haven't had any further points deducted for a ridiculously silly appeal!

Has the PL's appeal (to deduct more points) also been rejected, or only ours?

Time to see what they’re really made of - but I know what I’m expecting.

Part of me is wondering that the club were confident of getting points and it had filtered down to the players.

The statement mentions nothing about fighting to stay in the league

"The responsibility now is to ensure these remaining games are approached with the focus and intent our current situation demands."

What a word salad.

I am wondering about that as well.

Normally the announcement would normally would be posted on the PL website first that announcement would include a link to the written reasons . At this point I can’t see anything on either the PL or EFL site.

Was never going to do anything other than knock slight uncertainty down the line. We knew what we had to do originally and that has not changed.

Time to step up.

It does say in the statement “with the matter at an end” - but with this circus running us, who fully knows?

Here’s what the statement says

The decision relates to our profit and sustainability position for the three-year period to June 2024 and is accepted by the Club.
With the matter now at an end and five games of the season remaining, everyone at the Club is fully focused on the matches in front of us and on shaping the outcome of our season through our results on the pitch.

The PLs appeal wasn’t about the 6 points it was about the failure to comply with obligations around submission of accounts

I do wonder whether the PL's appeal was to counter ours. Ultimately, we aren't their problem now, we won't be next season, would they want to continue the hassle seriously?

The PLs appeal was to make a point and send the message to member clubs.

LC either were very badly advised or simply didn’t grasp the consequences of 1) kicking the can down the road 2) being belligerent

This hasn’t ended yet.

Although the apathy regarding the club couldn't be stronger from my perspective, it is irritating to me that they're letting us down a-la 19/20 & 20/21. The slow, painful, inevitable death of a season is so much harder to deal with than what happened last year.

It's not about getting us, it's about protecting themselves in the future.

They have to ensure the rules they set are abided by and rule breaking is appropriately punished otherwise chaos will reign (if it isn't already!)

Paragraphs 103 and 104 of the Appeal Board's decision...

Overall Conclusion on the PL’s Appeal

103. For the reasons we have given, we dismiss the PL’s appeal.
Conclusion and Disposal

104. For those reasons, both LCFC’s appeal and the PL’s appeal are dismissed.
