Jimmy ****ing Thelin a man sacked by Aberdeen. Final stage candidate. **** me Jon, these agents are not your friends. Do some work

We are joke, and you would have to be desperate to want to work for Rudkin.

Weren’t people on this forum putting this guys name forward only in the last year or so, for one of our vacancies? I’m sure they were. Perhaps our Jon just goes with the fan opinion, just hasn’t worked out he was looking at posts from a while back. Can’t expect miracles from a guy just discovering technology like the internet though!

It’s what we have done before when we’re close to an appointment.
Put a foreign manager in the rumour mill before appointing Rowett.
Exactly what we’re doing with Thelin.
We did it before appointing Cifuentes, RVN and Cooper.
Bo Svensson and Niko Kovac were mentioned in recent years.
Absolute joke of a club.
They have no intention of hiring these foreign managers it just makes it look like we’ve looked abroad.

What would be the purpose of throwing Thelin’s name into the rumour mill while instructing the journalist to make it clear Rowett has got the job? Who benefits and why?

Makes it look like we had options and on consideration were impressed by [insert new manager name here].

It’s a shame Jon can’t go off the fans opinion of HIM and do one.

Also it’s how you network with agents and increase opportunities to secure future options for players and managers, by putting names of their clients out in the media to help raise profiles of our of work managers, also helps demonstrate a manager is actively looking for work, which is a usual clause of any pay off.

If you wanted to do that, wouldn’t it be better to choose somebody that most people would have heard of as your fake rejected candidate? Throwing Thelin’s name into the mix doesn’t do anything other than make people vaguely wonder who the hell he is.

I’m not going to argue with the main point about our club being a absolute joke at the moment (how could I?), but this business of interpreting every single crap rumour as evidence of some devious plot by the owners seems a little unhinged.

Rowetts backroom team could be interesting as well, as they are also previously linked to Leicester.

Mark Sale (Assistant Head Coach): A key lieutenant who followed Rowett to Burton, Birmingham, Derby, Stoke, Millwall, and Oxford.

Joe Carnall (Head of Tactical

Insights/Analysis):Worked with Rowett for over eight years, handling performance and tactical analysis.

Dave Carolan (Head of Performance/Physical Performance): Long-term fitness specialist who joined Rowett at Derby, Stoke, and Birmingham.

Oxford United Football Club +3

Previous Key Staff (Stoke/Derby/Birmingham):

Kevin Summerfield: Assistant manager (Birmingham).

Rory Delap: First-team coach (Stoke).

Kevin Phillips: First-team coach (Stoke).

Callum Davidson: First-team coach (Stoke).

Kevin Poole: Goalkeeper coach (Burton,

Birmingham, Derby).

Paul Robinson: Technical coach (Birmingham).

Ultimately some managers just fit.  They do well at one club and bomb at another, there's no guaranteed success with anyone.

I sense a certain amount of snobbery towards Rowett from some.  There's no evidence that he's going to be a terrible fit here.  He should be given time and backing from the fans.  We all know what a circus he's walking into, I'd be surprised if he wasn't coming in with his eyes wide open.

He has to work with the tools he's been given, there is no magic bullet.  It's a tough job but it sounds like  he's here until the end of this season, he will have very little time to impact training over the next 3 or 4 weeks at least (he should have been in three weeks ago) so us fans need to just get behind him.

He doesn’t have the luxury of time. We can’t afford to carry on losing much longer..

Do you really think Rudders can negotiate more than one contract at a time.

Will be just Rowett, made to work with Saddler and King

It’ll be HR doing that bit I’d imagine!

Bang on. This is exactly what will happen.

The guy is unemployed. We are in a mess and need a manager. How hard can it be? If Top really has anything about him after this appointment it should be taxi for Rudkin. Some clubs have someone in the next day. Not us. We have wasted three weeks. Get your arses out of bed and get this done. We are sleepwalking into relegation. Top's promote comment is absolutely ludicrous. Try Bankrupt instead. That is more.likely.

The club is probably torn between giving King and Sadler another week or handing out several new contracts which they can’t afford maybe for longer than they want. In the meantime other clubs are getting results and City have 2 very tough away fixtures. Could be 6 or more points adrift with ridiculous pressure by the time Norwich come along.

I don’t think any of the managers since Rodgers have really been helped when it comes to bringing in their own back room staff so I can’t imagine Rowett with a 6 month contract will get many in either…  Which for me is part of the problem!

we need a host of new staff members who are all onside with the manager’s philosophies pushing his ideas and not allowing standards to drop… bringing in 1 or 2 we’ll just see this bunch of rodents continue to do what they’ve done for years and down tools before running to Top

Ha yes! I meant it in terms of FoxesTalk time!  He doesn't deserve a Rowett Out thread an hour before his first match kicks off based on his first team selection.

The truth is, he is going to struggle for proper training time with the fixture congestion coming up.  I hope he makes perfect decisions from minute one, but the reality is, he may need to see things with his own eyes before learning the detail of the squad.  That might take 2 or 3 games at least (I hope I'm wrong).
