No because he's from bromsgrove.

Worcestershire technically. Seems a decent bloke, and his accent has been watered down given his travels even a bit of Bermondsey in there I think.

What I did detect is a bit of Dyche style gruffness in his lingo. Let’s hope that helps.

Was working there today, coincidence or hope.

I am a bit suprised at the length of contract - has the caretaker vibe about it which might not encourage total buy in. An 18 month deal better with maybe a relegation break clause. Probably amounts to the same thing if he gets an extension for survival. Let's hope he goes well and gets us looking more solid.

I suspect he will move on in the summer irrespective of whether he keeps us up or not, but especially if we survive.

If he keeps us up he gets his pick of jobs in the summer, and I imagine there will be plenty given the amount of sides on the lookout for permanent managers and wanting to take ones currently in work.

He'll have his work cut out dealing with the amount of malaise within the Club and in particular amongst the playing staff.

Oh yes of course because “We promote next season”. Still a chance then for Russel Martin and the tippy tappy return for 2026/27.

If Rowett keeps us up he should stay longer in my book..We’ve got to realise just how far we have dropped in levels. Staying up will be a massive achievement with the fragility of this group of players.

When viewed in the context of where we were a few years ago, obviously not. As recently as last summer I would have been depressed as hell by this appointment.

When viewed in the context of where we are right now, I'm happy because I think Rowett offers us the most plausible route to survival—which is our sole priority for this season.

We've travelled a long way in the wrong direction over the past few years. Surviving this season might put a floor under our downward spiral and enable us to begin, slowly, to rebuild.

This is the simplest but truest summary.

I'm that blackpilled on LCFC at the minute that appointing Rowett isn't even underwhelming to me. I think we're in complete freefall. This is very much just part of it.

In this situation it's not a bad appointment for me. But I'm still not confident of an upturn - this squad feels uniquely hopeless.

It won’t be Martin, but I just have a feeling we may already have an agreement with another manager to take over if we stay up.

Yes you’re probably right. Unfortunately that’s the world we’re in these days, scant reward for the hard working achievers.

Kevin poole as gk coach could be a possibility

We've gone down the cheap route again, he's been allowed an assistant manager and that's it. GK's will continue to be coached by U21 staff.

Will get behind and support Rowett and the academy lads.. the rest of the squad can get to fvck though. Keep us up the piss off I hope and start afresh

Couple of things in his interview I found interesting:

He said "get my hands dirty" I interpreted this as dealing with the sh**y characters.

He also said "we all know what the problems are" which implied the owners have ran the club into the mud!
