Bet he's flawless at taking the bins out, strikes me as the sort of man thats read the council guidelines to the nth degree and knows how to get the job done. Has them out there at 7.01pm the night before an just stands in his bay window staring at his neighbours.

You've got to respect that

Spot on.

Probably gets the neighbourhood bins arranged in a structured 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 formation

Always good to have a manager who knows how to take out the trash.

Going to laugh at this thread when we still get relegated anyway....early days, still no clean sheets and a long way to go!

That's the spirit.

I like Rowett and think he talks well and will be worth keeping for league one but I completely agree. I'm finding this flurry of positivity so forced it's nauseating. We've drawn two games of which we were winning and like you say the defence continues to leak goals. Not Rowett's fault by any means

It just shows how for so many managers now, the basics haven’t been instilled. It’s not forced but people are just relieved to see some effort and hope on the pitch now.

I just feel like we're celebrating the bare minimum. The players are actually running a little bit and we're rejoicing.

Maybe I'm just a miserable sod but it's just sad to see the drop in standards over the years

It depends if you see it as celebrating or just some hope and relief. The latter is how I feel. It absolutely shows the way the standards have been tanked by Aiyawatt over the years though as you say.

A couple of weeks ago, we were dead and buried and had no hope of survival. Whilst survival in this league is not where we should be (contrary to the view of those who incorrectly see it as our natural level), we have been left in this hole as a result of Aiyawatt, Rudkin and the supporters backing them.

Under the games so far with Rowett, we have seen an improvement in the effort and application and that gives us hope that we can pull away.

Yeah that's fair mate

I think it's how we survived under the onslaught that Boro threw at us at times in that game.

Yes an error cost us at the end of the first half. But in other games we'd have capitulated way before then, lost the game 4-1 and only started playing in the second half when the game was out of reach.

Even after conceding we never gave up and that I can absolutely get behind. For a manager in his second game who hasn't enjoyed a home fixture yet, it's a good base to build from.

We know we can play at times. Get those combinations right again and fingers crossed we'll fly back up the league to safety.

It won’t be on him anyway if we go down. Not his fault he was brought in 3 weeks too late and has to negotiate dealing with the likes of Jordan Ayew 😖 the bloke deserves a medal.

Ask any match watching fan and they will have advised him on how best to deal with Ayew...

Gary - we need more Gary's.

I want to see him fist pumping SK1 after a 3-0 win.

Gary Lineker

Gary Mills

Gary Megson

Gary Taylor-Fletcher

Gary Rowett

Not a bad selection of Gary's, Megson aside

For sure. Might land him bother though, particularly with how I’d advise him to deal with him 👊🏼

I'd drop him off on Upperton Road 10 minutes before kick off and see if he could run to the ground in time to be bought on in the 70th minute.

Maybe we can sneak some into the Norwich supplies. I'm sure even this lot win against a squad completely off their tits

He is exactly what we need right now and it's been a few managers since we could say that. That first win and dare I say it first clean sheet is going to hit like crack.

Seems the right fit for a change, like Milne, Little, O’Neill and Pearson were. Bottom line is he knows Championship football and more importantly what’s required to galvanise the team and get the crowd behind them.

To me this changeover kind of feels like when Shakey took over a "second season syndrome" Ranieri re getting back to basics - and around this same crucial time of the season. Had we persisted with Marti I think we'd gave gone down this season, likewise had we done so with Ranieri 9 years ago....albeit in different divisions of course.
