What about Mav ?

Its a Sunday night, I'm not getting started on him.

lol

I think some of it is just frustration at the team in general. Fatawu is better than I give him credit for, but certainly got plenty of faults which don't help our situation.

Now that we have Aribo, Winks, Mukasa and BDCR and Skipp in midfield (Jordan when he is fit) I would consider trying Skipp for Thomas at left back.

The confidence and lift we would get if somehow got a win in teesside. Just give the players and fans that massive boost and that hope we can stay up. We really set things up nicely for the manager against Norwich on the Saturday.

Just some stats for the game

  • We have lost 8 of the last 12 - in 3 of the 4 games we did not lose... we deserved to (Stoke, WBA & Wrexham)
  • Middlesborough have won 6 of the last 7
  • They have the best defence at home this season
  • We don't have a player fit that has scored more than 2 goals
  • We haven't kept a clean sheet in 27 games
  • We have scored in 18 of the last 20 games
  • They have only lost twice at home this season and both to teams in the playoffs or better
  • Leicester matches have seen 22 goals in the first 15 minutes, 5 more than the nearest team
  • Middlesborough have scored the most and conceded the least in the final 15 minutes of the 1st half, Leicester by contrast have conceded most goals in this period

On the plus side we are unbeaten under Rowett

Boro haven’t won 6 out of 7 (5 out of 7 currently) They’re actually showing all the hallmarks of a comedown after a good run.

Oxford got a draw there yesterday so not reason why we can’t either. Lost to Cov the game before too so an early goal for us would be lovely to rattle them.

If we score can we hang on for 90 mins.   Doubtful

This will be a really bad beating.

The one thing we’ve excelled at in the last few years is false dawns.  Any positivity from the second half yesterday will evaporate when we concede after 5 mins.

Agree that if we’re to have any chance of a result we need to start playing like we mean it for the full 90 in games.

That would make a change. Been a long time since we did

So basically what you're saying is that we will win?

The most unlikely fullback in the squad.

I feel the same. Don’t know what I do it to myself.

A tough one. Would be very-very happy with a draw there, but Middlesbrough has other plans. This is a do or die game for us.

Any game in winnable in this league. We just need to turn up and have a game with limited mistakes.

Why this stupid idea keep appearing on these boards?

If any manager actually did this, you’d call them insane and want them sacked immediately!

You know - it’s not like we’re drastically short on central midfielders at the moment?

So yeah, let’s chuck the only one we have with the water carrier skill set in at left back and stack our central midfield with pretty passers!

Oxford went there and got a 0-0 draw at the weekend.

I'll be very surprised if we don't let in at least 3 goals.

3-1.

Let’s be honest they are nothing special, this is a way below average championship, and it’s never that good!

we are shite and they will probably beats us easily but it’s not like going Man City away!

Why is it well below average? The only difference to normal is the 3 sides that came down are not as good as you would expect.

If you try to play them in midfield they will totally outplay you. They have a very strong midfield but are weak everywhere else. They don't have a striker and their defence and GK are poor. One of Wrights goals against them was funny. Our GK did a long punt. Their GK came for the ball then changed his mind and went onto his line. The two defenders on Wright just let him run past them. The ball bounced and reached the 6 yard box where he put it into the net. Just bypass their midfield and you should score goals.

Even Oxford were unlucky against them hitting the woodwork twice.
