We still breached PSR again in 23/24 when he was here, which seemed a calculated gamble despite raising nearly £100m in transfer profit and on Enzo having gone for promotion with an eye watering wage bill including new signings on big wages such as Coady, Winks and Mavididi.

I might be wrong, but wasn’t that under Susan Whelan watch?
I’m willingly to give these changes a chance. Top was never going to sack JR. I just hope the new TD  (sporting director) can influence JR in a positive way to ensure the right decisions are made at the club. If there’s anything about the new TD, if JR becomes an obstruction then he will leave, which will point at the door of JR. This is my last hope

The success or failure of this supposed restructure feels very much reliant on McCarron and whether he brings new ideas to the table that have a significant change. That in itself proves that the previous and this new structure is wrong. A good structure should be about ensuring clear communication of a vision/strategy, having clear and defined roles & responsibilities, making the structure conducive for people to collaborate working towards meeting the strategy. It shouldn't hinge on one bloke.

Academy coach -> Chief Football Officer

Thai customer service manager -> interim MD of an English football club

Financial controller -> CEO

A pattern of unfit and unsuitable appointments again and again. Top deserves the club to liquidate on his watch, inept little C UNT

Yes, but all of those appointments are:

1. Cheap.

2. Utterly grateful for a job they have been overpromoted to and therefore most likely to be a yes man (or woman).

3. A ‘structure’ for you to blame and shout at rather than the ownership.

Reminds me of when Ashley promoted Lee Charnley to director for us. Lee was the club secretary before Ashley joined. Was also the cheapest football director employed in the PL at the time. Sounds just like your new CEO.

The appointment for the vacant FD role worries me, you’ve effectively got the outgoing FD now heading up the recruitment for the new one.

If you’re sensible and ambitious you should always recruit people that are more intelligent than you, firstly it makes your own role easier and secondly you’ve got people around you to push you.

He’s going to be sitting round the table with Top and Rudkin and he’s got 2 options - either the above or he’ll look for a yes man - a similar character that JR would employ - it will be his first big decision he needs to get right and I’ve got some serious doubts as a collective board they will.

The finance side of running the business over the next 3-5 years is going to need someone serious horsepower, with someone who’s got a track record in the industry of patching up a balance sheet, fending off some tricky audits which at least the next 2 will be.

They really need to get a high calibre candidate in

We have all the worst parallels with Ashley, Chansiri, Yonge etc and sizeable portion of our fanbase will still blithely say “be careful what you wish for”.

I can’t wait for admin, not because I want it but I know it’s coming so we might as well hurry up and get it over and done with. Just got to hope that the debt isn’t it too great and there are owners willing to take it on (my gut feeling is there will be).

The KP modus operandi is promote from within but in this case the ‘promotee’ has already been promoted. We have a problem of people being here too long, it’s too comfortable and too institutionalising.

I suspect we won’t pay particularly well for these roles which is part of the problem - we’ll probably baulk at an extra £50k p/a on top what we’ll pay to land a top FD but have no qualms giving Toenails a bullshit job on £_00,000 p/a.

I know the current financial controller (Davies former job). Ex tigers head of finance. Imagine if we’re using similar recruitment techniques he’ll be a shoe in lol

The one difference from Ashley is we were never at risk of administration. He was too interested in selling off our assets to himself on the cheap to allow us to go bust. He only ever let the club spend its money (club generated money, he put **** all in) when we were relegated, to get straight back up to the PL gravy train and tread water.

Sadly, your ownership either does not give a toss about administration or are too thick to see it heading towards them.

The only way it’ll get better is a change of ownership. Rebrands like this and the invisible learning review from your previous PL relegation prove Top has zero intention of learning or changing. You can either sit and watch him bounce you from disaster to disaster before you ultimately become the next Sheffield Wednesday or you can collectively take action to force change.

They've been told by Di Marco they've been hard done by and are far too burrowed up their own arses to believe otherwise.

Alex Herrick - apologies if you are mates with him but anyone who talks about themselves in the 3rd person on LinkedIn are generally complete w@nkers - in my experience, as they tend to lack any self confidence so have to try and propel themselves via LinkedIn as though they have someone writing the bio for them - another LinkedIn pet hate of mine.

Rudkin getting a massive promotion and more power at the club when he should be getting sacked is disgraceful

And were we a serious business he would be, but we are now a vanity project for a man with vastly more money than integrity.

It's simply a job for his mate, someone who no doubt tells him precisely what he wants to hear.

Sickening on every level.

It's tricky honestly, I am not sure a relatively small business in football is that attractive to senior finance professionals.

If that graphic shows different forms of profit/loss then it´s interesting that LCFC managed to lose more money AFTER the COVID panademic than during it.

Illustrates the scale of the Bodgers failure in 2021/22.

We gambled on Bodgers, Dongerton and Dudkin putting together a squad that would finally push into the top four at the third time of asking. Gambled on securing Champions League revenues, clearly planning only for that outcome and not say missing out on the CL… or the Europa, or Europe at all…

Clearly evident in 2022/23 is the massive dive the profitability took when our Europe-ready expenses met our Europe-less revenues.

The scale of the gamble is plain to see in those charts. The failure to qualify for what we had clearly relied upon had a clear impact on the numbers.

It was a disaster. And we’re paying for it long term.

Even if he’s a good FD (up for debate), CEO is an entirely different role and somebody that was a financial controller 2 years ago is wholly under qualified for it. We need a track record here, not somebody that has done the bare minimum to impress.

It seems pretty clear to me that the CEO role is back office support and Rudkin is running the show. Perhaps they also have support from KP head office.

So not only has Rudkin been promoted, the finance director has been promoted to CEO lol Incredible.

Yep, they just dont want someone coming in and banging some heads together, promote from within to keep the same thing going.

Should I go back to the thread and find them?

To be fair it was only one! And no prizes guessing who.

Is that Kevin Davies as bad as we might think?

I quite rate him. A bit older than Antonio but I think he could be what we need to do the job in League One, with Ayew or Daka playing off him.

If Kevin Davies was the stand out candidate  why not appoint him the moment Susan Whelan left, instead Aiyawatt moved into the Interim CEO role. Just feels like these appointments will reaffirm his control and he can carry on regardless.

Nothing changes if nothing changes and let’s be honest the three most senior roles in this reshuffle Chief Football Officer, CEO and MD are all current employees and very close to the current ownership.
