Honestly, if KP and Rudkin are involved we know they'll appoint a t**t. Their search criteria practically ensure this

Big name, British based. Man City way preferable. Experience essential

Others need not apply

Wouldn't mind James Morrison if WBA decide to go elsewhere, just because he ticks a lot of the Nigel Pearson boxes:

 - Boro and West Brom connection

 - not had permanent managerial job

 - manager of a relegation rival who survived

I'm doing a lot of research on managers I'd want that I think are achievable, but my gut instinct is Top will double down and get Russell Martin, and the worst part is, given the dire scenario we are in, I would be forced to 1000% back him over the board. He would use the youth, those youth players would dramatically improve on the ball, I absolute detest the football he produces, but we are in a now or never scenario regarding promotion and potentially administration.

I really hope we avoid him, but he would probably be less of a risk than quite a few of the managers at this sort of level.

Our best chance of avoiding Martin is him turning us down.

Can't see him wanting to come here in League One when he didn't in the Championship.

I may be wrong, but I'm not convinced the keep ball tactics would work in Division 1.

I hope you're right, but sadly a lot has changed for us both in that time, from RM's pov I can't see him having any offers at Champ level. I guess maybe the likes of QPR/Bristol City might take a glance, but I just can't see where he's going to go now after the collapse of his Southampton side then his spell at Rangers.
He would hold a lot of power over the board if he came here that's for sure.

He's the profile of manager the club might go for. Unless they opt for experience.

He’s had one job and failed spectacularly. As bad as our owners have been, that is not the kind of profile they’ll go for.

If you watch Div1 or Div2 games the playing surfaces are terrible compared to Championship/Premier league.

Would King Power want another PR disaster? RM would be less popular than Cooper.
