And this is why it was never going to happen. I reckon they're all on holiday and thought nah. That is next month's problem. Honestly, any other club would learn from past mistakes. Nope not us. The one time we actually need to get our house in order early and there is silence. 

 

They should have had a plan in place, targets to go after, conversations had and a realistic view on the hole we're in. Nope, we're linked to the narrow search of dross like Rylan. 

 

We can't get it wrong or leave it late. We need a manager then to look at the squad, get rid of crap (most), get a new proper captain in and rebuild the squad early. What do we get..the usual silence. 

 

Look at all the other clubs sorting managers throughout the football league and prem already.

Rowett is not the answer as his 3 month's or so 'try before you buy' clearly showed.

I put £20 on him with Betvictor on Tuesday at 20/1, looked yesterday and he was 4/1. Looked this morning and they've pulled their market for now

We were reported to have strongly considered Thelin before appointing Rowett. If that's true, it wouldn't surprise me if we went back for him.

They are ****ing unreal. No lessons learned, keeping on doing the same shit, definition of madness. I am rapidly losing the will to support this shit show now, it makes me so livid that they are such a bunch of clueless inept willy pullers.

I’d be very pleasantly surprised if we looked abroad for a name, it’s such an extreme rarity for League 1 clubs to go down that route, over the past 5-6 years, Barnsley are about the only club to have done so. 
 

The norm for League 1 clubs is recruiting managers who have been around the English leagues, or hiring assistant managers/coaches who are also involved in the English game. 
 

Even if we do look overseas, knowing us, it will probably end up being Lee Johnson.

This, im getting seriously so pissed off with the operation of this club. It is getting to the point where I just give up caring because they clearing treat us with utter contempt and disrespect.

I like the thought of going for an assistant. 
Paddy McCarthy or Jason Tindall if Howe leaves Newcastle.

I'm not so bothered by the radio silence on the managerial front. It's often quiet at this time of year - any managers in post are on holiday/don't want to be bothered. The industry in general slows down, especially with players away and the World Cup etc. And as discussed at length - this appointment is so important and the situation the club finds itself in makes it all the more challenging to getting it right - we need someone who can lift the feeling and morale from rock bottom, oversee a huge squad rebuild, make use of youth, instill a completely new ethos and mindset and finish top 2 at the first time of asking. 

 

Talking our time to get it right is no bad thing (obviously the club could be doing this, or they could be taking aging to make Yet Another Terrible AppointmentTM, or they could be doing nothing). 

 

What I think is unforgivable is the general radio silence over the wider situation. There should have been some sort of statement to acknowledge the failings of the last 4-5 years, the double relegation, the financial worries etc - some sort of attempt to provide assurances to the fans that there is some sort of plan and some sort of attempt to set things right.
