There's no Pearson/Shakey/Walsh  coming over the hill to save us this time ,as bad as it sounds ,success  would  be staying up in league 1.

I think you are right, but I 'hope' you are wrong

I think some of the higher earners, we try and shift by offering them to clubs with no fee attached. Whilst they wont get the wages they get here, a signing on fee at a club could alleviate that. We aren't realistically going to get a transfer fee for Vestergaard or Reid. Someone possibly might pay a fee for Hamza or possibly loan him

I imagine they will also have another 35-50% wage drop for relegation, as they did last season.. They will not be on anything like they was a couple of seasons ago.

Hopefully this and not playing third division football gets them out of the club.

As we face down the barrel of the gun, looking at entering League 1, I think we need to consider what happens with the club.

The last time we were relegated, we when down with the 2nd best defence in the league. We just couldn’t score! We had a squad filled with players that shouldn’t have been in league 1. Dyer, Tunchev, Oakley, King, Hobbs, Berner, Gradel, Howard and Fryatt. I don’t think we will have that this time.

I’m going to suggest at this point, we don’t enter administration (that’s a hope rather than inside knowledge). Fatawu and El Khannous get sold. They keep the club afloat would be my guess.

We’ll be losing Ricardo, Daka, Ayew, Lascelles, Marçal, Faes and Begovic as contracts expire on the 30th June.

Question marks on Winks contracts. Some suggest it expires, others don’t. He won’t be here either way.

James, Ramsey, Mukasa, Aribo and Richards will also return to parent clubs.

This leaves us with (before the vultures set about the rest of the squad).

GK : Stolarkzyk, Vietes, Bausor

DEF : Vestergaard, Nelson, Kristiansen, Souttar, Okoli, Thomas, Alonko, S Thomas, Coulibally, Joseph, Wilson-Brown

MID : Choudhury, Mavididi, Golding, Skipp, Page, Monga, Braybrooke, Alves, Cartwright

ATT : Reid, Evans, Popov, Opuku, Richards

I look at that said and I think without serious, serious rebuilding work, we don’t have the quality we had last time.

I also don’t think we’ll be that active in the transfer market.

I am led to believe a £15m (+£5m in add-ons) deal for Bilal is already done with Stuttgart - El Khannouss to stay at Stuttgart beyond the season

From your list I can see Coulibally, Nelson, Kristiansen and Okoli all being sold

If we have anything about us we will offload Mavididi, petulant behaviour every time he is subbed off and lack of end product - better off without him. Abdul will be sold, 5-6m more than what we paid, no more than that as we wont be in a position to argue.

Sadly I think Monga will be sold as well, someone will give us £20m for him and we will be forced to offload him as its pure profit.

The concerning thing for me is how are we going to find £40m a year to run the academy, training ground and womens team as well as comply with EFL regulations for League 1

Can we even get a 'regular' transfer fee for Monga, when he's less than 18 years old? I thought youth players like that have their value decided by a tribunal?

Either way, who the heck is paying £20m for Monga, especially if we're a League One team...?

Not sure what the rules are these days.....perhaps it was just blind optimism

Once he's signed a professional contact, then you can.

How tragic is it that we’ll have to build a team around Luke Thomas

I'd say there is a high chance he'll be captain:cry:or vice to Hamza!

Absolutely no chance of that happening, he’s not even signed a pro deal yet, if he’s feeling charitable he’ll sign one in July to allow us to get a fee, but more than likely he’ll get poached and in a few years after a tribunal we’ll get a couple of mil compensation

ideally keep the decent youth players, rid of the toxic mature players and then raid the free agents market for suitable league 1/ champo players.

the likes of Page, Braybrooke, Aluko, Evans and Monga are at the very least capable of league one; but we will need players around them that can inspire them as they are bound to burn out at points.

Braybrooke will be a good player at league one level

I think this is the way to go. The main priority will be to rid the club of the toxic mercenaries on high wages who have fleeced the club and brought about its demise and that includes backstage class earning a living for doing precisely nothing. Get rid of the dross and then build around what is left with free agents with something to prove.

I have accepted we are never going to escape relegation with this lot and must move forward next season with what few resources we have. Whether Top hangs on or not Rudkin needs to go considering his role in our downfall. Just do it Top!!!

20M for Monga!? Must have seen a different player to what I have been 😂 Lucky if we get 5M.

Vestergaard, Nelson, Stolarkzyk, Choudhury, Reid and Vietes will all only have 12 months left at the start of next season. I doubt we’ll get much for any of them.

something is better than nothing, and get the likes of Jakub, Nelson and Hamza will count well towards psr too,

There won't be anything close to resembling a rebuild. It will be more of the same rubbish decision making, overseen by the same clowns as before and the outcome will be the same as the last 2 seasons.

Nothing changes until KP, Aiyawatt and Rudkin are gone.
