Harrogate Town midfielder Jack Evans has joined us for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old, who won Town’s 2025-26 Players’ and Fans’ Player of the Season awards, has signed a three-year deal at Meadow Lane.

Director of Football Richard Montague said: “Despite Harrogate’s struggles last season, Jack was one of the outstanding midfielders in the division.

“In particular, we feel his capabilities out of possession – his energy, aggression and work-rate – complement the other midfield players at the club.

Interesting tactic

It is lol

As much as it's been nice to bring some new players in, we are reaching from down below to do so. Bit concerning that we haven't got anyone in our squad(other than Jodi Jones) that has played at this level.

I would always prefer a player with upward momentum than downward momentum. But thats coming from a club that signed skipp, Ayew and bdcr when we could have just taken the better players from the championship. I know what would have put us in a better situation as a club to move forwards

That's a good point.

I know in the past we've had a few signings where we got a player that had played at a higher level, but was at the end their career and it was a total waste of time(I'm looking at you Dan Gosling!).

Some speculation that this is Jatta's replacement:

We have completed the signing of Australian forward Luka Smyth.

The 22-year-old joins us for an undisclosed fee from Finnish top flight side Vaasan Palloseura (VPS), signing a three-year deal with the option of another year in the club’s favour.

Director of Football Richard Montague said: “Luka has a very interesting profile, standing at 6ft 4” but also being very strong in his pressing and comfortable with the ball at his feet.

“He arrives having enjoyed a breakthrough season in Finland, in which he’s been a big threat both in terms of his goals and all-round play.

Of course I'm hoping we will have both of them :fc:

I don't mean to be rude at all but why is a Notts County fan always on our forum? Have you been banned from your own, or is it really boring?

And you've never noticed the Watford and Wolves fans?

I've only been here for 10 years! lol

I guess with being in the same league I am posting more outside of the 'General Discussion' section, although I have often posted in your match day threads.

Since this is a League One thread, I figured posting about our signings is relevant.

And yes, the Notts County forum I post on is pretty boring. Most of them think I'm young, and I'm 56! lol

I am not the only supporter of another club here at this forum.

I thought you were in your 30s
