Don't really think it makes much difference to suggest a team selection.

Gary "clone of our past managers" Rowett will just rince and repeat.

Souttar may get a deserved start,  but your Daka's, BdCR's Wink's, Choudhury's etc will take to the pitch, sticking the place out in a 423 fvcking 1 formation. (Shock, gasp)

I'd be very surprised in we see a noticeable inclusion of youth players from the get go.  And I welcome that if I'm honest,  like the last match it would be a shame to tarnish them with the same "brush of abject failure" the so called experienced players have all been liberally painted with....

So if we win we finish 6 points behind Blackburn, with a better goal difference.  That adds legitimacy to the claim that we were relegated because of off field issues, and could/would be used to somewhat paper over the cracks.

I don't want us humiliated or anything like that, but if there was ever a game I didn't want us to win, it's this one.

Failure to win this will have meant the points deduction had no material bearing on the season.

Hopefully souttar plays and gets a injury that lasts just enough for him not to be sold, but just in time for him to serve us , lol

That'll be him back in April 2027 when a back four of Thomas, Vestergaard, Okoli and Choudhury has us 7 points adrift of safety in League One then

I hope they wouldn't use it to paper over the cracks because what they have (not) done over they years has put us in a position where 6 points deducted can put us in relegation

I wasn’t but that pitch! My first time at Ewood was the Rooster Russell 1-0 game, the season David Speedie dived at Wembley 😉

I was, what a game, this was the frustration with this Pleat side, we were capable of playing some decent stuff at times and had some good players for this level but woeful inconsistency meant we never challenged for promotion and seemed to just hang about in mid table

Yeah that was a great day. Crammed in the away end and I couldn't even see the bottom half of the goal when Rooster scored.

Mocking Dalglish on the way out didn't work out so well in the end though.

There is absolutely no point in playing the likes of Daka, Fatawu, Mukasa, Winks, Ricardo, Ayew, Ramsey even James. They’ll all be off.

Theres nothing on this game either so it’s not like we can get done for fielding a “weaker side”

Just let some of the u21s get a taste of senior football. We’ve got two forwards who have had great seasons at youth level. Why not let them experience Championship football?

It’ll be 4231 with Daka upfront but would be nice to see some fresh faces.

Yes I was there too. As you say such a frustrating team considering the players we had

Yeah I was at all those games, that Russell goal was when our keeper smacked it against him and he run it into an empty net if I remember rightly? We all know Speedie dived, it's no secret! He was one of those players that you loved if he played for you and hated if he played for someone else, he was only here a season but he's still idolised at Ewood 30 odd years later, that takes some doing.

In that 3-3 game Mike Newell got sent off for kicking Colin Hendry, it doesn't show it on that video and I forgot you had G McAllister playing for you, what a player he was. That season we made it to the PO's and got smacked 6-1 by Chelsea over 2 legs in the days when the team that finished 4th bottom of the 1st division had to play in them for a chance to stay up. I don't know how many season's they did that for, it can't have been more than 2 or 3 but I think they do something similar in Scotland now.

Thomas 36 mins

Ayew      42 mins

Winks.    44 mins

All wrapped up before second half collapse......

Play Motsi if he’s back from international duty, last ditch attempt to get him to stay, or force the tribunal fee up.

Hutchinson deserves a start. Him, Page, Monga, even Silko.

Play Vietes because why the **** not.

Do not want to see any players whose contract is about to expire, or is going to want a move away. They are not part of this clubs future, and that should have started as soon as relegation was confirmed.

Some of the locals here confuse the hell out of me when talking formations in the beer leagues I play in. They often count from front to back, and they have a terrible habit of not counting the keeper in the headline number - so when they say “7v7” they mean 8v8 because the keeper isn’t a real person with feelings I guess. Numpties.

Anyway, in that vein I suggest we change things up and play a 1-3-2-4 formation at Blackburn.
