£12m for Skipp is outrageous, surely we’re not asking for that.

£6m isn’t too far off for Mavididi though, you’d think a club would at least get close to that.

There must be some logic behind these asking prices. Is it this stupid book value thing?

If these figures are even true and not just something someone has plucked out of the air...

If you've ever tried to sell anything second hand, you'll know that you never put the price you want, you put something beyond it to give yourself room for bargaining. if they're putting 12 and 6, it probably means that they'll take 9 and 4 or something.

I know the insistence here is that the club are incompetent, but when they do sell players they often get a decent price for them: from Maguire to McAteer - we've been getting good prices for years.  I think the question here and commonly over the last few years, is not the price we need to get for individual players, but that no one wants to risk spending ANY money on players that have been sh!t for years...

We've also seen circa 200 million worth of players leave on free transfers as well. We get good prices when we sell our best players, but we seem completely incapable of getting anything for players we don't want to keep.

Are you saying that mccateer was one of our best players? was Tom Cannon one of our better players?

Every team loses players on free transfers, it's not like we're the only team - the other season i think everton lost 10 players for free. There's no evidence to suggest that these departures are because we have demanded too much or that we simply couldn't find buyers.

I could well believe this is true as we still owe 3/5 of his transfer fee to Spurs, so you do the math. What a shit show.

Exactly the type of signing we should be doing. Hope it’s true.

6ft 6 inch defender, this has come out of the blue hopefully means one or two are leaving.

Left footed and former inter youth.

He also has been used at CDM a bit, so presumably is comfortable on the ball… some very brief reading suggests at youth level he was noted for his pass accuracy and ability to step out and carry the ball into midfield. Sounds like a Martin-type player.

But is it a Kristiansen type or a diamond in the rough? Please be an absolute gem

Can he bring big Jari Rantanan with him I don’t care if he’s 65 years old we’ll give him his old ind coope shirt and stick him upfront

Or Jari Litmanen think he'd be more effective in the 10 than Cullen
