Club have missed a golden opportunity to use this game to launch the new home kit, straight away it removes any link from last seasons failures, offers the opportunity to launch it with loads of positivity, would have probably led to a big increase in attendance and you could use some of the premier league winners alongside some of the brighter academy players for the promo shoots with a slogan/tagline such as - 

 

“They Made History. You Write the Next Chapter.”

Is it just me or do others feel the club are missing a massive commercial opportunity by not releasing the kits, it’s approaching peak holiday season and certainly younger fans and even some of the older generation like to take the new shirt(s) on holiday. 
 

Given the kit is usually heavily discounted by the time Christmas comes along, then the window to maximise shirt sale revenue is fairly limited, even if the club want to ensure revenue is only realised from 1st July onwards to count towards next seasons financials, they could have started marketing it and sharing some teasers etc or launch one of the shirts in June and the other 2 in July. Just seems somewhat short sighted in my opinion.

Agree with this. Speaking from personal experience, this is my daughter's first World Cup and she is really enjoying it and loves wearing her England kit.

 

There's a generation of young kids out there really enjoying their first tournament and desperate for more football. She's been asking me when she can have the next Leicester kit and I keep having to say we don't have one yet!

Probably because we are fanny around with sponsorship.

Yeah will definitely be this. And I can’t imagine we make much more than £5/£10 on every shirt sold we will make more on a decent sponsorship deal than what we would lose in sales. A well run club probably does both though…
