Should we have just accepted the charges when they were first brought against us? If I recall we spent an awful lot of money on a technicality, which although was semi successful in avoiding a points deduction initially, it caught up with us this season, and if we had been deducted at the time, we wouldn't have lost the 6 points this season, which would mean we would not have finished in the bottom 3, and avoided the drop to league 1.

I accept we broke rules and deserved punishment.

Another shambles by those at the top?

They knew the the rules, should have ensured they followedΒ  them. Very bad decision making by the people in charge. Got off very lightly in my opinion. Can't blame PSR for our predicament.

The club deserved the deduction but aren’t fortune tellers to know when the deduction would be most beneficial. Given what the PL and EFL were trying to deduct we got off lightly, not that it mattered, in the end.

Β

Club and fans need to accept their medicine on this one and move on as there’s no benefit in dwelling on what ifs.

We were relegated by 6 points.

It’s fine to fight tooth and nail legally to avoid punishment if we then got the house in order. Instead we got lucky once and presumed we could fight with law fare rather than the mismanagement eventually catching up.

Β

Instead we just carried on spending recklessly. The summer 25 window was delusional and frivolous. The only good permanent signing was El Khannouss and we managed to make a loss!

Β

We’ve been in some degree of financial difficulty since summer 22 and it was only three years later, after a second relegation in three years, we stemmed the transfer spending.

Β

The lack of redundancies, mothballing of Belvoir Dr, maintaining the number of stewards, floating away ID checks and so on means they’re not reconciling with the financial disaster STILL.

No. We are guilty.

Naivety and lack of interest from Top, incompetence from Rudkin lead to this.

Β

If there was anything riding on the game our players would have faulted, as they did all season. Do not let 1 win in a meaningless game suggest otherwise. Blackburn were on holiday.Β

In hindsight yes, but we would have failed PSR twice if it wasn't for the court win and have avoided bigger points deductions by fighting, but the team have been abysmal for the last 2 season which is down to Rudkin.Β

Β

We over spent trying to stay in the PL 24/25 but that squad was never going to be good enough.

Β

We should have recognised that, our pointless token gesture trying to support Cooper with the Skipp, Okoli and BEK transfers has put the club future at risk with another Β£71 million loss in the latest accounts.Β

Β

The club would have been naive to think that the PL wouldn't take that decision lying down if we won the case, and would try to get us in the future.

Β

So to fail PSR this season is a disgrace and beyond belief to be honest, we've made so many mistakes.

Β

I can't see how Rudkin and the CFO can keep their jobs neverΒ  mind get promoted. Top is a cretin.Β

And West Brom had a deduction for donating to a charity whilst Blackburn got fiddled by replaying a game against Ipswich when leading. It’s all whataboutary that we can’t cherry pick to suit ourselves.

Don't need to cherry pick. The league table doesn't lie. Or does it?

No it doesn’t, we got relegated.

The Premier League and EFL were attempting to illegally apply a sanction they had no right to apply.
Β

So, yes. We were absolutely within our rights to defend ourselves from two blatantly and brazenly corrupt authorities.Β

We fought the law, and the law won.Β
Β

The rules are crap. The implementation is crap. The punishments are crap. It’s all crap.Β
Β

But we knew what the rules were, and after having dodged them once in court, can have no complaints when we did it again and got punished.Β
Β

Our own complacency and incompetence earned us the dedication this time. We clearly didn’t take it seriously enough first time around.Β

We have been flirting around the rules for years .... and it's caught up with us and we have paid a price for it in the form of 6 points .... but it was poor player buying, bad financial management, poor performances and results over the past 2 seasons that saw us relegated TWICE not the 6 pointsΒ

If we had needed a win at Blackburn to stay up there is no chance this group would have done the businessΒ

We fought corruption on 4 occasions and were found to be right on 3 out of the 4. Corruption cannot go unchallenged. Unfortunately the corruption continues at all levels of football and is Β leading to the eventual destruction of the game as real supporters will discover. The corruption and our esteemed owners incompetence are two different things. However the obscene player contracts, agents fees etc are all part of the overall demise of the game.The next TV deal may be the final watershed in football destruction as ordinary supporters are finally pushed out leaving tourists and sycophants. Football is already struggling to sell live attendance. I bought tickets for Arsenal today at face value with ease for tomorrows Champions League and there is plenty of hospitality unsold. In the evening of my supporting life it is sad to see but unavoidably true.in2016 our club raised hope but unleashed the fear and wrath of the money people. Never again will they let true hope shine again. That is the only certain thing you can predict for football.;

Fact is given the wages we're paying for the dross we have, and the squad we still have (on paper at least - even it didn't somehow translate to what happened on the pitch) and a competent manager in charge - our points deduction could have been twice what it was and we should still have been the other end of the table to where we ended up.Β

Β

The whole season has been a cruel joke and its unbelievable how far we've fallen in ten years.
